It is okay...I guess
Tough item to review, because I have mixed feelings about it. I looked a lot online (and in local stores) for a dog crate to go in our family room and look ok. The local stores had never heard of such an item, so I was left with online. Prices are high! This was on a low end price point for end table crates and was about what I wanted to spend.Assembly - Had to use wood glue with the screws otherwise they wouldn't hold the crate together. Also needed to 2 people and couldn't follow directions as written, had to do the steps in a different order.Crate looks very nice, but it is big. our 65lb dog fits with plenty of room to spare. It is bigger than most end tables so I think that makes decorating around it tough? But we are still working with it.Durability - Other reviews are correct, do not use this to crate train a dog. If your dog does not want to be in this crate then he will scratch it very easily and I can see how a determined dog could tear it apart. Our dog LOVED his plastic crate and is still getting use to this one, and has scratched the door slats and marked them up and I am not happy about that.

perfect!
our dog is a 37 pound terrier and lab mix with anxiety and fear issues. we have a problem with him chasing the cats. we crate him in a wire crate in the garage at night or when we are gone to avoid dog/cat trouble. his obedience trainer suggested crating him indoors, making him feel that he is part of the entire pack (not just us but the cats as well). I didn't want the old wire crate in the house and procrastinated until the recent 'polar vortex'-its now IMHO way too cold in the garage-even with heaters. So I purchased this. Got the large as he is used to his wire crate that used to hold collies. It was incredibly easy to put together-took me, by myself, less than 45 minutes and all i needed was my 'kitchen phillips screwdriver' (you know, the one you keep in an drawer by the sink for quick fixes). Its clearly not elegant furniture-but so what?I would agree that it was be a bad choice for a dog that isn't crate trained-but it is called a pet den/crate-to me that emphasizes the DEN aspect-somewhere quiet and safe for a dog to go to relax. So far, I'm really pleased. Going to give it a test run when I go to work today (with wind chill its around -5 anyway)-but lock the cats away just in case. Will update with its performance when I see how Dozer does (that's the dog).

Looks great, but not what I was expecting
This is a nice kennel. I looks great and is better than the metal crate I had in my sunroom. I have a male Golden retriever it is a bit small for him in my opinion. He likes it and goes in there fine without protest but I have seen him hit his head a few times. I should have gotten a taller kennel. He is 9 months old and has not chewed it at all which is good, if her tried to it would be ruined quickly. The assembly was difficult some and the kennel does not seem as sturdy as I would like. For the price I was expecting more but I am happy I don't have to see that ugly metal crate anymore!

Great Item - Great Quality
We have a senior rescue dog who spends most of her time sleeping, and has to spend time crated due to health issues. We had a wire training crate in our family room for her for ages, and got tired of the aesthetics. We took a leap of faith and bought this end table crate. It was super easy assembly, and better quality than expected. Solidly constructed and the finish seems to be a good quality. This is solid wood, not veneer. Our pup loves it. The sides make her feel even more secure and safe. The only drawback? Our cat is jealous and wants his own private sleeping quarters. Just keep in mind this is a crate, but not a training crate. If you need a training crate then get one and use it properly. This crate is perfect if used as intended.

Stylish and practical!
I spent a LOT of time and I mean a lot of time researching crates for our Australian Shepherd. His old plastic crate was ready to retire to a dog rescue so we needed something comfortable and stylish. I read all the reviews and while the front door is a bit loose when you close (easy fix), it was easy enough for us to put together. Actually I drank wine and watched my husband put together so I thought it was easy enough. My pooch loves loves his new crate. He feels secure in it and can easily move around and lay down for a good night's sleep,

It's Ok
It's OK but definitely not what i was expecting. I don't know why, but I thought it was going to be luxurious. It is a pressed wood home for the dog. After getting it up and putting it to work, I would not have bought it again. Flimsy lock, which frequently unlocks while in use. I recommend putting something like Steal mesh fabric over the slots...the dog seems to love to chew in these areas and the area should have been somewhat protected anyhow.

Buyer beware...
It's a decent crate, however the locking mechanism frequently falls off and my two pups have been able to easily gnaw the wooden slats on the door. Interestingly enough, I can't find the seller info to order a replacement door...what does that tell you?

Difficult to assemble
On the positive side, the piece look nice-----that's about where the positive ends.Negative1. Expensive for what it is2. Engineering is poor3. Difficult for one person to assemble due to inadequate fasteners.4. Some of the mounting blocks were to far from its mated part rendering supplied materials worthless5. The crate is not strong enough to securely entrust your pet (unless you bolt the parts together as opposed to the weak 1" screws supplied).Get ready for disappointment, it comes included

Exceptionally well made product
Well built, easy to assemble, sturdy and gorgeous. It blends so well as a nice piece of furniture in our living room, most people don't even notice it's actually a dog crate.

Happy enough!
These have worked great for my shelties. They mightn't be durable enough for a dog not already crate trained. I'm pleased with how they look in my cottage and that they function quite well as side tables.

But now that it's together I love it and so does the dog
I would not have been able to put it together on my own and with help it still took us more than the 30 min they said. But now that it's together I love it and so does the dog!
