This gate sensor works great, so much better than having to dig for the remote!!

Metal sensor for attachment for Mule
I use this for my Mule gate opening system. It is of very good quality and very heavy. The cord is very long Id say 75 feet. It works well and connects directly to the system. The price is a little high nut there arent many other options so its hard to complain. It was easy to install.

Worked great
Paired nicely with my mighty mule gate opener. First one was only 50 ft and after so many years outdoors the squirrels finally killed it.

fix for false triggering and water ingress over time
This was a replacement for one that I had installed in 2009. It apparently went bad due to water. I noticed the old one had a small board that hooked between the yellow wire and the black. The new one did not come with one. So I hooked it up per the diagram and it worked fine except I noticed later in the day it was opening without a car there, in fact it was opening all the time. Reading the reviews, I noticed that one customer had the mule co send him a small board that went between the yellow wire and the black. I hooked my old one back up and the gate triggers fine with a car and no false openings. I measured the variable resistor and it is a 500Kohm pot. Mine was adjusted halfway at 250K ohms. So anyone with the falsing problem could get a 500K pot and set it for their own needs, about halfway. The other thing is that these units do not appear to be 100%waterproof. For $120, I want the thing to last a long long time. So I suggest that people use some silicone RTV caulking to seal the little hole that the wire goes into. Even better is to seal the whole unit into a piece of PVC pipe. Check the photos.

Works as advertised.
Had our Mighty Mule opener for years, finally decided to get this. Works great, one less button to push in my life.

Very disappointing product and customer service.....
I installed this with a new Mighty Mule MM371W system all at the same time and it failed in the first few weeks. The gate would randomly open on its own and stay in the open position. The first few times I could use the remote to close the gate but then I eventually had to power down the gate controller to reset it. Now it's completely unresponsive. I opened the gate control board to find LED #2 was blinking 3 times in a row then a pause and then repeating the same sequence. I used the troubleshooting guide in the Mighty Mule installation manual to decipher this code of blinking LED's and it clearly states the exit device has shorted. I installed everything per the manufacturer's installation guides which is pretty straight forward. I followed each step in the correct order as per the guide so there was no chance of shorting something and causing damage to the control board or device. I made sure the control board was off during the installation of it and the accessories. I haven't driven over the device or cable so physical damage is not possible. This is a Mighty Mule product designed to go with their gate openers so I expect more. I'd understand if I bought a different brand that may have some compatibility issues. In addition, the product should be far better for what they charge for this junk.So now I'm debating what's worse. Is it that I have waited on the phone a total of 4 hours for customer support with no answer or that I now have to re-excavate to unearth this crap! I might just leave it if I cannot get someone on the phone to provide support and a Return Auth #. Oh and a bonus, I get to pay to ship it back to them if I ever get a RA#!! This is ridiculous. I would give negative stars if that was an option.
