Great size functions really great swings back-and-forth opens and close. The ratchet works perfectly decides is perfectly for small cats and big cats.

The only reason I didn’t give it 5 stars is because the locking function isn’t full proof.I use this door for my two Boston Terriers, one is full grown (so about a 20lb dog) and the other is a puppy. For the most part this door keeps them in, they go up and nudge it and know if it’s closed or not. However sometimes when they get really wound up and excited (aka the zoomies) the bigger dog will run straight at the door and plow right thru it no matter if it’s locked or not. This isn’t a big deal for us as our backyard is fenced in and the two of them are in their kennels when no one is home, but it might be a problem for someone who leaves their dogs out with access to the pet door but doesn’t want them to be able to run in and out freely.Other than that it’s a pretty good pet door for the price. I bought this product because it was exactly the same pet door that was installed when I moved into my house, so it was a super easy install. Took me all of 5 minutes to get it put in. The reason we had to replace the old one was because the strip around the doors edge came unglued so I imagine after a bit of time this one might do the same, but for this price that really doesn’t bother me.

It fits perfectly and is much quieter than the other chubby cat door I had. My cats like having their own door to go in or out of and the old one was in pretty bad shape. Once I put this door in my cats were going in and out multiple times to "test it". They love being able to just sit in front of it and be able to see what is on the other side.

I purchased a home with this door already installed and it finally wore out so I purchased a new one. It's quiet and the cats like to look through it into and out of the house before they barrel through. I've had 3 kittens master it's use over the years as well as multiple adult cats. The locking mechanism works great. I'd definitely buy again.

We should have noticed this before cutting the whole thing out, but the template included in the box has the outline of the door printed upside down. See the attached picture: the round corners should be at the bottom of the actual pet door. Templated hole was too tight anyway, so fixing was possible, but frustrating.Also, the magnet on the door (required for proper function) had already fallen off by the time we received it. We'll just glue it back on with more durable glue.

We have a very old Chubby Kat insert in glass sliding doors and the flap itself had become opaque. Our old dog would go through it but our new dog wouldn't.As the inserts are not sold separately I got a complete unit that was meant to be fitted into thick doors. They as usual consist of two parts screwed into the hole in the door. We used only the part that includes the flap and it was easy to insert into the old frame.The only problem was the red, 4-way lock; our dogs would knock it down so that was locked. I must have superglued the old lock, but this time I removed the lock parts which were held together by one screw.
