Exceeds all other products
Marine Tex is simply the best product of its kind. I have used it for many things over the last couple of decades. Without question, it has never failed. In fact, the repair has usually been stronger than the original material. For example, I tried an experiment with something as minor as a broken handle on a ceramic bowl. The handle was broken completely off, with a small bit of ceramic material missing. This bowl gets hard use, and is routinely run through a very hot dishwasher. The repair has been holding for months and I don't suspect it will fail in the future. The ONLY thing to be aware of is, the 2 oz. version is meant to be a ONE use version. If you don't want to use all of it, you have to estimate how much catalyst to mix with the material. The instructions simply say the normal mix is 1:10. The catalyst is in a tiny little bottle that doesn't make your measurement easy. That being said, Marine Tex is still the best and strongest I've ever used.

Today I bought my second kit
The first one I purchased 14 months ago to fix 1/8" scratches in the hull of a jetski, well 14 months later it is holding pretty well, mind you this is underwater use, later on I used it on the hull of a fiberglass boat, again below the water application. I am happy with the underwater application, but I learned you really have to prep the area well, make sure it is sanded, clean and dry before applying, and it takes a good 3 days to cure. I used it to repair some nicks on a wake-board, it was used a day later and the stuff came off. But I am still giving it 5 stars because the results are amazing when done properly! If you are willing to wait a week, it will be fully cured and it can take anything Value for the money, this is great, because out of 2 ounces, I got about 10 different applications, today I used the rest of it to glue granite top to kitchen cabinets! the stuff is easy to use, reuse and store, very good packaging in a nice little box. I hate the blister packs that you cannot reuse the packaging, and then two syringes that get lost in a junk drawer. This box, you can keep on a shelf Few tips: easy to clean within 20 minutes with wet rag, after 20 minutes, it is now hard, but you can get it off with a blade. If it looks dark shiny grey, don't use yet, even though it will feel hard to the touch, wait until is looks like dull lighter color grey, or couple of days later, even then it is not structural yet Word of caution: when you mix it, chemical fumes do come out from what looks like an exothermic reaction, the fumes are not good to inhale according to the box, cancer causing irritants..actually fumes will continue to come out for 20 minutes or more

Great bedding compound for rifle stocks
Great texture. Doesn't run, easy to work with. I've used a lot of the accraglass and this is far superior. I think I could do two rifles with this one kit.

Worked as described but color description is off
Ordered to fix a scrape on keel of my boat. Marine tex worked great but is black not gray. Bought gray b/c my hull is silver and I thought it would match better than the white. Not so as when I mixed it up it was black. Also need to let it set up a little if you are using overhead as it will drip and sag which causes additional sanding. Overall verry pleased with this product and should hold up well. It dried to the touch in around 45 minutes using a heat lamp

the best epoxy
This good stuff. Haven't got to use it yet. Got a quarter jet carburetor that I'm going to put it on the Welsh plugs.

Works when all others fail
I have 3 Ford F-350 diesels with the 7.3 IH engine. All 3 have rust pin holes in the oil pan. Big design flaw common to all who operate in the salty rust belt. Engine has to be removed to replace the pan. Big job costing $1,800 each vehicle. I tried JBB Weld and an assortment of other adhesive materials, all to no avail. Combination of heat, vibration and a difficult substrate caused repeated failures leading to worsening leaking. Finally read the reviews here and decided to give this product a try. Instructions make it very clear that meticulous substrate preparation was necessary. Nothing adheres to even faintly oily steel. Meticulous handling is required as the product will burn skin and blind eye sight. Meticulous application is also required in a controlled temperature environment or the product will not cure properly. I followed directions and was meticulous. No more leaks. As solid as the steel itself. I am very impressed and will be thousands ahead when I finish the other two trucks. I should add that quick set was used in a very small area to prevent oil weep and a heat lamp was used for 48 hours to ensure curing. Patience has its virtues.

FIXED MY ALUMINUM BOAT
You will have to mix the entire contents,,you can't save any of it;but it does harden like steel. I was fixing an old patch, I had to get a disk sander to re sand the old patch.I turned my jon boat upside down to keep Marine Tex from running. . It was cured in 4 hours. It turns black which is ok with me since it 's on the bottom of the boat. I went fishing, not one leak. I always keep this on hand as I fish about 3 times a week; and it does work. I've tried JB Welder.which .only works sometimes. .For me, this is the only thing for serious leaks. Chuck

Easy to mix glue/Bedding
Easy to mix. Gets very hard. Has low shrink rate. If you want to want to remove items that are to be bedded together - use a good release agent. For bedding or gluing I like this (grey) - the paste (just as much) and second Devcon 10110.
