KOHLER K-R562-SD-VS Malleco Pull-Down Kitchen Sink Faucet with Soap or Lotion Dispenser, Vibrant Stainless

Bought this as a more modern replacement for an old Moen fixture I had. I have lots of experience with Kohler and really like them. Products are well built and customer service is easy.I really like tech so I opted for the waive motion model to start and stop water from the faucet. I will say it takes awhile to get used to the motion as opposed to turning the handle on and off. But once you do, you really like it. And a lot less touching of the fixture with dirty or greasy hands and fingers! It stays cleaner...a big plus!Installation is straight forward, with directions easy to follow. Replacing kitchen sink fixtures is always a pain because you need to get underneath the sink and move your arms and body in difficult and constrained spaces. But this unit has some thought into the installation. The brass nut with the two screws that you tighten down on the main neck of the fixture once you can know longer tighten the nut by hand makes sure the fixture stays solid in place. The water lines attach easily, assuming you already have 3/8" male faucet shut off connectors already installed. If you don't, this will require lots of pre-plumbing work to install those, and it won't matter which fixture you buy - this will become a much bigger job prepping for the install.The installation of the motion activation hardware underneath is "plug and play" and in spite of being an easy click of the faucet lines into the motion activation controller underneath, there are no leaks!!!What comes with the unit to power the motion activation switch is a battery pack and 6 new AA batteries. But I opted to buy an optional plug in power supply. Many of the motion activation units on the market are battery only but Kohler offers an option for a plug in power supply. If you have a spare electric receptacle underneath to plug into, this saves the hassle and expense of replacing the batteries. Kohler offers a power supply to purchase and there are several other power supplies offered for this model on Amazon, but this is the one I chose and it's working great - just search Amazon for:T POWER 9V Ac Dc Adapter Charger for Kohler Malleco Touchless Faucet R77748 K-R77748-SD K-R77748, K-R31498-NA K-R31498Included soap dispenser is easy to install - pretty straight forward like most of them. I opted to buy an optional soap dispensing tubing kit that allows you to draw from a large container of dishwashing soap you park under the sink so refills are easy and infrequent. Pretty easy install but I had to attach the flexible hose to the short plastic tube that comes with the dispenser as opposed to directly inserting the flexible tube into the dispenser unit. No biggee and it works great. only have had it a month. .but love it. .bought it even after reading some questionable reviews as my daughter has had this exact on for many years. .and never has had any issues. .our sink is thin stainless and we had to add a piece of wood under it to help it no flex. . everything works great. .would recommend. .also I have had issues with soap dispensers like this one, but not this one. . now I dilute the soap so its not so think this stop it from clogging up. .

I had a very outdated fixture. The water pressure slow. I would have been happy with the touch free feature; however, this install also corrected the water pressure issue. I'm able to use the soap dispenser now as well. The install was a bit tricky because of the age of the fixtures that were removed. This product was an easy install for DIY. The seller did a follow up also and even though I was not able to respond at the time, I liked that they did reach out!!!

Easy to install. Looks and works great. Buy the optional power adapter instead of using battery pack we had issues with sensor reading. Only issue i see is now wanting to upgrade my sink with thicker steel and deeper sink bowls as water likes to splash onto counters using shower head function.

The item was great, just as seen online. Unfortunately, it could not be changed out with the existing facet. This item was turned using return label from seller to UPS. Package was lost in transit and Regina Luxury Supply is honoring a refund of this item. Great customer service!

I like this significantly more than the touch faucet from our previous house --you can wipe it down without water shooting out and operate it even if wearing dish gloves. If you're expecting it to work 100% of the time you might be disappointed, but if you're okay taking an extra half second to move your hand/scrubber/whatever in front of the sensor again every 20-50 uses, you'll probably be happy with it.

After less than a year, it stopped working properly and eventually it wouldn't start/stop automatically at all. I contacted them and they sent me a replacement control unit (for free). It's not fun to crawl under a sink and swap this thing, but it did fix the issue. However, less than a year later again, it's having the same problem. There's nothing more annoying than having to now replace a faucet that wasn't cheap after less than two years.

This is the second time I have purchased this exact same faucet. First time for my own house a few years ago, and this time for my parents’ house. Compared to other Kohler (and Moen and other reputable brands) faucets, this one seems to always be priced lower than comparable touchless faucets.The on/off sensor is positioned underneath the top curve of the faucet, which in my opinion is one of the better touchless faucet designs out there. Fewer accidental sensor activations with this one compared to the more common design where the sensor is near the bottom of the faucet right in front of where your hands and dishes are. And we never liked the design that requires you to actually tap the faucet; that leads to water marks on the faucet and therefore more wiping and cleaning needed.Would buy this again and recommend it to others.
