Our neighborhood has been inundated with small gnats/fruit flies -- no one knows what brought them, but them have invaded our kitchens. They are very difficult to swat. We have removed every possible lure in our kitchens, but they continue to fly around the sink area. I tried remedies I found online -- no success. Then I purchased STEM and it works! I see them on our white kitchen cabinets, spray, and wipe with a paper towel, or spray as they sit in and around the sink. I have told neighbors and they are using it, too. Says it is safe around kids and pets, so it is a real winner!!

This product does work pretty well. I've had drain flies come every summer and stay until winter. They drive me crazy! I didn't want to spray a strong, caustic, poison in my bedroom (they were everywhere!) where there's no windows or ventilation whatsoever. So I thought I'd try this and I am not sorry. It says to not spray it in the air and to wait for the insect to land, then spray the insect. I just sprayed my whole room anyway and it worked great there was only 1 tiny one flying around for the next few days, it was great! I've only had to spray it twice (the 2nd time was directly at one I saw). I'm not crazy about the smell, but it's a lot better than the strong chemical smell that would come with Raid or one of those products. It's that lemongrass smell. I only have 2 small issues with this product. #1 the trigger/sprayer. I actually like it because it's easy to use, but it's too easy is the problem. You're meant to push the trigger with your thumb, not pull the trigger with your index finger. Well, my genius self, didn't actually look to make sure it was pointed in the right direction and tried squeezing the trigger (like a can of Febreze). I sprayed myself directly in the forehead and top of my head. Thankfully I had the can tipped and didn't get my eyes, just my freshly washed, still damp, hair. So make sure you know what way the nozzle is loi ting before you spray. Push the button with your thumb, NOT your index finger. #2- all the oil everywhere! I sprayed the air in my kitchen and then almost bust my ass! The floor was so slick! I had to mop the entire floor with hot water and dawn dish soap. The directions DO say toward for the insect to land, spray it for at least a second, then use soap & water to clean the area. This is turning into a lot of work, just to kill a few drain flies. I do feel better knowing that im using a non toxic, safe for humans & pets, product. Overall, I'm happy with the results.

One of our screen had a hole that I didn't notice and hence 4 or 5 flys had made their way in. They were bothersome enough and numerous enough that I thought, time to get some fly spray and be done with them. So here comes Stem Fly Spray and I think, great, this will finish them off in short order -- just spray it around the area where the flies are and the deed will be done. Oh, not so fast, compadre; read the instructions carefully and there you will see that they want you NOT to spray this stuff up in the air -- it specifically says not to. WHAT!? thinks I. No, you are supposed to wait till a fly LANDS and then spray it DIRECTLY on the fly holding the can 18 inches away, it says. Problem with that is, flies are WAY quicker than the spray -- the spray never hits them because they are gone the microsecond after you press the spray button. Evidently they see the spray COMING and they are gone, zippity-split, before it even gets to them! Plus, half the time when you try to get get the spray can 18 inches to a landed fly, that speedster is GONE, just from your movement. They are not just sitting there waiting for you to spray them. I have not been able to kill a SINGLE FLY in at least a dozen tries or more for over two days. Not singe success! I GURANTEE you will be better off with a fly swatter than this product. Better still, find a fly spray that you actually CAN spray in the air where the flies are, you know....flying. Also, this stuff is GREASY...every surface I sprayed it on in my attempt to get of a landed fly (which, btw, they don't do that often) turned into a greasy mess that then had to be cleaned, so that makes it a no-go for a fly that lands on any porous surface...like most of what is in my house. This stuff is a FAIL on many levels.

I purchased this insecticide because it is suppose to be safe around people and pets. I wanted to use it in the house to kill little tiny no seeums, which I would consider a gnat. Since the directions tell you to spray the insect, tiny gnats/no seums are here and gone. I cannot catch the long enough to spray it. So for me, it does not work for tiny flying insects. I did not have an opportunity to use it on flies and mosquitoes. Spraying this in the house left a light oil residue on furniture and floor. It seems inconvenient to wash up after spraying a bug, but makes sense. The feature that I absolutely do not like about this product is the scent. It is strong and it lasts for hours with a light spray. Figuring out the spray top was not really easy. There is a notch on the ring under the lever you need to turn the top with the lever to the right to line the lever up over the notch. This notch is the same color as the top. It is not colored so you can see it. Then it will spray. When done, turn the top part to the left to lock the sprayer. You should also be aware that this insecticide is not returnable. I plan to use this outside for flies or mosquitoes that get into our porch. If I still cannot tolerate the smell, I will throw it away.

You’ll probably need to reapply if you’re outside for a while. Spray Design: The bottle is functional, but the spray could have a finer mist for better coverage. 🚪 How It Stacks Up: Compared to standard bug sprays, Stem is a great alternative if you’re looking for something plant-based and effective without the toxic vibes. It doesn’t have the crazy strength of DEET-heavy sprays, but for everyday use, it’s solid. If you’re like me and want to keep the bugs at bay without dousing your space in chemicals, this is definitely worth a try. Just keep it handy for re-sprays during longer outdoor hangs. 🌿✨

I ruined our garage door appearance wise. This stuff is extremely oily. I was spraying a fly and it landed on the garage door. When I went to clean it off the paint was different and now looks all messed up. The instructions say to wait for the bug to land before spraying. To not just spray as it flies in the air. If its going to ruin whatever it's being sprayed on then whats the point? I haven't used it since. It works and kills them but if I can't spray the walls or any surface thats not a countertop then there's no reason for me to use it. Its not like flying bugs are gonna be nice and land on the ground for me to spray them. Flies fly... often ending up in windows or on the wall...seems like this stuff would mess up my blinds. I have those ones that looks like nice wood. So if it being oily isn't an issue for you then buy it. The stuff works great. Just remember that if you were spraying to make sure you wipe the floor. Its oily to the point that it never goes away on its own and you will slip on it later on. It even says so on the bottle lol
