Setting a priority for new player's interested in billiards and consider expenses - yes, you can master the high deflection with mass production cue / tip. Kamui has mastered the compression with this tip, I played decent pool with close games - got the tip and my game multiplied, it will have the same effect on your game. The medium compression gives you the control and finesse, more options for shots.

Tips are very personal and don't always involve performance differences so much as brand loyalty or just using what your favorite pro likes. Sometimes it's also about cost. I came to Kamui because my cue, a Players HXT, came with one (though not the clear) and I liked how it performed. The clear version, I use a soft, lasts me over a year with regular maintenance. They don't tend to mushroom, at least not any of the ones I've used. Bottom line is personal preference. Try finding someone using one and see if they'll let you try it out.

This is my first time using a kamui tip, and I like it. I put it on one of my Viking house cues for my home table and it's a medium density model tip. In the future I will likely get another one but in the soft, or super soft variety. It takes chalk well and I have had zero problems with it so far, playing almost daily for an hour or more.

If your stick doesn’t have one, everyone needs one of these. Won’t replace practice, but it helped with my cue control from the start (soft option). Shaping it was simple (YouTube!!). Recommend 5min epoxy for glue as it worked best for me compared to other glue suggestions I found online.

First soft tip I've used, the clear bottom was a little concaved, but it came out easily with a little sand paper. Installed it myself. didn't do the best job, but man did it change my game. Highly recommend.Edit: heavily used. Bought several of these for friends and a few replacements for myself. Can't imagine using anything else. Usually replace the tip when I've worn it down to about 2 full layers above the clear. At this point I notice I miscue more... Roughly every 4 months or so.

Every other time over ordered from them it's been good and I like their tips but this last order for a clearblack soft tip came earlier than they said but the tip was slanted, makes me weary of future purchases
