Fiddlerman Carbon Fiber Violin Bow 1/2

A very good entry-level bow for who looking for a durable and quality at a reasonable price. Highly recommended.

I bought a 1/2 violin bow for my 7 years old child when he began to learn sautille. The old bow is very difficult to jump but Fiddlermn bow did jump easily. Before the buying, we owned Fiddlerman 4/4 bows. And we are very satisfied with them (Yes, they are 5 stars). But the 1/2 Fiddlerman bow is a different story(3 stars). 1. The hair is apparently too long. We need to tighten the screw almost to the end for playing. 2. The hair will loose from bow, Almost 2 hair will get loose from bow every week (about 10 hours of playing). 3. The frog is very difficult to move on stick. It seems the slot is too small. 4. One corner of the winding covering film peeled off. ( I am not sure if I should remove the film). Fiddlerman bows are good. But really wish Fiddlerman can keep 1/2 bow quality as good as 4/4 bow. Updates: After talking to Michael, he send out a new one immediately . My son spent a weekend with the new one. It is perfect. The new bow does not have the above issues. The rosin we use is Kaplan Art Craft dark rosin. As other reviewers, Fiddlerman has perfect customer service. Thank you Michael!

my daughter current bow is giving up. fixing it would cost $85. when Switching to the new one, her teacher comment was she's doing better and asked if she's been practicing more because she improved a lot. The bow is helping in the sound of her violin.

This bow helped my daughter to play better versus the heavier wood bow that came with the violin. The violin music with this bow sounds great!! I gave 5 stars as we did have an issue with the first bow that we received just after the Amazon return period expired, but it was VERY quickly resolved by Michael as soon as we contacted him. He also explained that despite these being carbon fiber bows, they are still hard carved to finish and that they honor the warranty up to 2 years on their product, which is longer than the written warranty!! The customer service alone was simply outstanding and that coupled with their product is helping my daughter to play better is a win-win.
