Offers a bit of hope for people like my mother
My 72 year old mother fell and broke her left wrist over a year ago. She was then pushed to the ground and broke her right shoulder -Two serious breaks in a year which have led to the onset of Osteopenia which we had never heard of as a family until the diagnosis. I bought this book for her to help her understand her condition and to give her a bit of hope that with sight changes in lifestyle there might be the possibility of an amelioration of her condition (or a stagnation). I had a quick flick through it and it provides narratives from other people, health, food, diet and exercise information. My mother says she will read it from cover to cover and it is also a very accessible book, so not full of unreadable jargon. I would recommend this as a first step to understanding your condition and how to manage it.

reversing Osteopenia
I bought this book after finding out i had osteopenia . I read it in two days cover to cover. It allayed all my fears and made me realize that i can reverse it before it develops into Osteoporosis with the correct supplements and exercise. I have lent it to all my friends who are passing it from one to the other to read and to be aware off.I cannot praise this praise this book strongly enough - go out and buy it - it will be the best investment you have ever made.

Good Source of Information
I like most of the information I have read. I am not interested in taking medicine although I should according to my doctor. Nice exercises and food ideas except that some are full fat but that can be fixed by using low fat in it's place. An update of this book would be nice with some changes that other people have also complained about.

good general information
I found this book useful in the sense that it confirmed and expanded on the things i already knew about osteopenia. It's also great to have a book which focuses on osteopenia, rather than just full-blown osteoperosis. The case studies are interesting as they look at different ages, genders, and lifestyles and examine how the people came to have osteopenia and how they could work to reverse the effects. I liked this aspect as it didn't assume the reader to be over 50, as a lot of other osteopenia/osteoperosis books seem to do. It also contains useful information about foods and their calcium contents, different calcium and mineral supplements, t-scores, and bone strengthening exercises, amongst other things. A general, but useful and informative book.
