Terrific at protecting walls. A little bit if a pain to put on even when following the instructions but so worth it!

I spent a lot of time reading the reviews before I purchased. Comments seemed to focus on installation, so here are mine: - Loading the sock on the tube is a lot easier with two people. One person pulls the sock as directed in the instructions with the other "feeds" the sock - keeping a few feet of the unloaded sock in line with the tube.- Before unloading the sock onto your hose know the dimensions of both. If you're putting a 30' sock on a 30' hose make sure you keep tension on the sock as you pull the tube. Otherwise you may come up a few feet short and have to go back to the top and stretch the sock to bring it to it's full length.- The means of securing the sock on the ends appears functional, but it is a little inelegant. I haven't used the hose, yet, so I'll update this as necessary.All-in-all, the finished installation looks nice and I'm pleased with the purchase.

I was a little worried about putting this on the Nutone hose after reading some reviews. But the sock comes in a cardboard tube, and includes instructions on how to install it. By threading the sock over the cardboard tube, and then just feeding the hose through the tube, the process just took me about 15 minutes. Easy as pie. Just follow the directions.The sock looks nice. I'm banking on what people say about it preventing nicks or scrapes around corners of walls from pulling to hose. So far, so good.There's a star here for "suction power." But the sock, of course, merely covers the outside of the hose, and does not affect the suction of the vacuum.

I am not sure why some of the reviewers for the Vacuflo Sock had problems. If you follow the instructions as written, it took us 20 minutes to install with no real problems. You must slide the entire length of the sock onto the cardboard tube and then slide the tube from the wall receptacle end down the tube to the handle. It makes it much easier if you have a tile or hardwood floor which keeps the tube ridged as you slide the sock on it.. Also make sure you keep the tube sock compressed as much as possible as you feed the sock down the tube. When all of the sock is compressed on the tube, slide the sock off the tube. At the handle end leave about 2 or 3 inches extra sock at the handle end: roll this extra sock back on itself and leave a 3" cuff.The you slowly slide the tube back down the tube pulling the sock off as you go. Make another cuff at thwe receptacle end of the tube. Install the two tie wrap fasteners, 1 at each end and then use a pair of pliers and pull bth tie wraps tight: not so tight to compress the Vacuflo tube. Cut the 2 tie wraps flush with a pair of heavy kitchen scissors so there are no sharp edges where you cut them. Remember to save the shipping tube and instructions since you will need it to take off the sock when and if you want to wash it. There you have it !!!!

We’ve had our central vacuum for over 10 years and just recently decided to get a hose cover. It took about 10 minutes to install and we love it! The hose now slides across the floor easily and doesn’t scuff the baseboard any more. Definitely should have bought this years ago!

The cover is nice and holding well, however it is extremely difficult to install onto the hose and in addition is shorter than it had stated. I had bought this specifically for the length but now have a few feet that isn't covered. Wish it was longer as it stated.

Getting the sock on the tub was not fun. The hardest part was getting the NuTone logo over the tub. Then the sock came up 18" short so going back and pulling the sock tighter to get another 18: was not fun. The directions should tell you to pull the sock tight as you go. Also the directions tell you to cut 3" off the end of the sock. NO WAY. I now understand why companies offer FREE installation of a sock when you buy a new hose. Good way to work up a sweat.

Was much easier to attach to my central vac hose than some suggested. I actually had a harder time taking off my old style hose cover than putting this one on. Found it hard to cut the excess material off it is very durable. In hindsight I would have just left this on as I don't think it would have been noticeable. Otherwise works great and much more snug than old style hose covers.
