Xikar HumiStore Crystal 250 Humidity Regulator

I use this in tandem with a gel container and it does a nice job keeping the humidity in my home humidor.

These are the best Humidifiers I've ever found. I've tried many different brands, but haven't found any that come close to these. Its amazing how a small amount of powder equivalent to the size of barely a teaspoon can expand into the entire brick. These will keep your humidor up to par. Make sure you use enough of them based on the size of your humidor. Don't go strictly by their recommendations. For example, I'd recommend three of these humidifiers in the "Treasure Dome" humidor which happens to be rated as a humidor that holds 250 to 300 cigars. Check to see if the humidifiers need to be refilled with fluid more often during winter months when the humidity is much lower. I only use Xikar Propylene Glycol Solution for these cigar humidifiers.

I've had several of these in my humidors for the past 10 years and they are the the only thing I would use. I am in southern Arizona where the humidity can be down to one percent, so it's quite the challenge keeping my sticks in the proper humidity. For me, they keep it between 63 and 65% humidity. And believe me, they work hard to keep the humidity at that high level considering our climate here. Just be sure to use the recommended solution so that the beds stay healthy and don't dry up.

Maybe I just received a bad one, but I just don't understand all the praise these things get. My humidifier arrived in its sealed bag with about half the "crystals" not inside the humidifier, but stuck all over the thing and the bag. I actually tried squishing the "crystals" (which I think are just solid PG bits) back into the plastic case, but gave up in short order. I've had this thing in my humidor for about 3 weeks now, and have to say the Xikar is far worse than the cheap green plant-sponge-thing that most humidors come with at maintaining proper hydration. This thing is extremely poor quality and I will never buy another product from Xikar again.

This is my second one in 5 years. Way simpler than the green florists foam included one. My humidor (100 cigar, cuban crafter) usually has about 20-30 cigars in it at any one time. I also replaced the analog dial guage with Xikars digital one and that was a good upgrade as well. Once every two months I add the premade Xikar 50/50 solution to this and fill it up until it will absorb no more into the beads, let it sit on my counter for an hour and then wipe it off and shake it off modestly until I am sure nothing will drip/ run out while its magnetically held upside down in my humidor lid. Keeps the humidor at approximately 68-70 RH for those 2-3 months (depending on conditions in my house) As far as this being my second humidifier, it just stopped keeping my humidity at a high enough level. Should have done it at the 3 maybe 4 year mark. That being said, if I wasn't so impressed with the ease and precision of the first one I wouldn't have bought the same one again would I?

This is fantastic to keep your cigar/ humidor at the right level. Be aware!!! This is to maintain the humidity level on large humidor. On small humidor (100) or less it needs to be removed after a few days. Esto es fantástico para mantener su cigarro/humidor en el nivel correcto. ¡¡¡Sé consciente!!! These work REALLY well. The Gel keeps a constant 68% (indicated by my digital Xikar hydrometer) humidity in my humidor. I have a pretty big display case humidor and I use three of these gel packs in it. I usually only have to fill one of these guys up because they will not only release humidity, but accumulate humidity as well if it is too high. That is why I like them so much, it would be really hard to over do it.

This unit can easily replace the rectangular green foam-like humidifier that often comes with a 100-count size humidor, and can be magnetically secured inside the lid. Just add distilled water and you're good to go. The beads make the proper humidification dissipate slowly and gently, taking away the highs and lows of the ol' hockey pucks. Highly recommend!
