HARRIS Diatomaceous Earth Food Grade, Half Pound with Easy Application Puffer Tip

This HARRIS Diatomaceous Earth is a fantastic natural solution for pest control. Since it's food grade, I feel much safer using it around the house and near pets compared to harsh chemical sprays. The standout feature is definitely the "puffer tip" on the bottle—it makes it incredibly easy to apply a fine, even dust into tight cracks, baseboards, and hard-to-reach corners without making a huge mess. It’s an efficient, non-toxic essential for any home maintenance kit!

This is a great product for eliminating internal and external annoying critters with exoskeletons. I’ve been able to eradicate moth infestations, as well as infestations on plants. It’s tasteless and safe, as long as you do’t breathe it in. It’s a great addition for gut health of animals, as well as humans. A very little daily amount is helpful, added to whatever natural regimen already underway. Inexpensive, I’ve been adding it to my oatmeal for years. It’s tasteless, odorless, and mixes easily in a sprayer you’ll need to shake before using. If it works for animals, why not humans? This is food grade.

Easy application puffer tip for the win! It makes it so much simpler to get the thinnest layer possible so the bugs go through it, and not around it. I love this product. Easy to use. Highly effective. No potent odor, but I don't put my nose up to it. Sealed tight. Lasts a long time, but I reapply periodically after a deep home cleaning. This container value for the money is an A+ in my book. I buy their resealable large bag and use a small scoop and funnel to refill the bottle.

this is a good product and it works well for killing bugs without poison, but it’s really hard to use the puffing dispenser tip without getting earth all over yourself so wear a very good N95 mask when you use it

The best non-toxic roach and ant killer! It works on anything with hard exo-skeleton, suffocating them. So if you have hermit crabs, or an open fish tank, remove from the area before use, and until the dust clears. Also, once wet, it is no longer effective.

I used this on my grape vines because some bug was eating perfect circles into each leaf. By the time I used this diatomaceous earth powder the vines were almost bare. Within a day visible new bug bites were nonexistent. Within a couple of weeks the grape vine is full of leaves and hardy. It works fast and effectively. I like that’s its food safe too.

This was a reasonably priced version of this product. I have used similar products before with good results. The fact that it is a non toxic way to get rid of roaches or other insects is ideal. I needed to apply some in our master bathroom, specifically in some cracking tile grout where I noticed some baby roaches were hiding (ewwwwwwwwww) and didn't want to use toxic substances in there. I had manually killed a few babies over the course of a few weeks prior that I horrifyingly witnessed venturing out of that crack. I really DID NOT WANT them to grow into adults as I have an unnatural fear of roaches since childhood. I have no idea how many babies are in one roach egg... and I don't want to know. I found this product very difficult to apply, but it is probably just the nature of powders. I wore a mask so I wouldn't breathe it in because even though it is not toxic, any powders going into your lungs is a bad idea. I found that I either couldn't be sure it was coming out at all OR I had an excessive amount pour out. Perhaps a better solution is to pour a bit into a small cup/plate and use a small paint brush or an old, spare make up brush to apply. I ended up dumping large amounts out, wasting quite a bit of product, and smearing it into the places needed with my hands (less than ideal). I tried to get it in all the cracked areas and then went around the bathroom floor boards and behind the toilet for good measure. I also put some in the corners of my Master bedroom and along 2 sets of sliders in two rooms, where there are definitely some entry points. The heavy rains in the summer drive insects to seek dry shelter in our home we notice. Although we do get monthly outdoor pest control service on the exterior of the home, it isn't always enough. It is hard for me to know for sure if this product has worked because I haven't found any dead insects, but I also have not seen any live ones since-- a positive in my book. The babies may have died behind the tile, and while not ideal, is better than them being alive and growing into big nasty roaches. I prefer to pretend they walked in the powder and went outside in the yard to die. I know we do still need to seal up the shower cracks, but it will take a lot of time and money to do it right. Curse the previous owners who used thick sandy grout lines! I will be coming up with an ad hoc solution in the meantime. If you have never tried a product like this before, I recommend giving it a shot. I will update my review if I see roaches rolling around in this powder and laughing at me in defiance. Until then, I am assuming it is working as intended.

I don't like spraying chemicals around. I like that this is non toxic. Two applications, two weeks apart, which took about 5 minutes each, and my silverfish problem is completely gone.

Effective physical insect control. Has dramatically decreased the number of insects in indoor areas where I used it to line entrypoints. Apparently it's non-toxic, so I definitely prefer it over insecticides. But it's more a preventative/supplemental measure than a solution. For something like ant infestations, I'd suggest you use it in conjunction with ant bait (don't pour this around the bait though, you want those ants to live). It comes out like baking powder. I just poured a little in the desired areas then spread it using a small brush. The included spout isn't convenient for larger areas, so I'd suggest something like a bulb duster instead for that. You're apparently only supposed to apply a very thin layer to flat surfaces, because if you can clearly see it then the insects can definitely see it and will avoid it. Not that effective outdoors as rain will wash it away.
