AMAZING high quality product for an AMAZING price!
This ukulele is AMAZING! With such a low sale price, one would expect it to be made of cheap materials, however, the quality of construction is top-notch. It not only looks beautiful, but plays beautifully as well. The ukulele came packaged in a sturdy box and set between two foam pieces that kept it very well protected. You could easily use this box to store it if you wanted. The ukulele comes with a thin canvas drawstring carrying bag to store it in. It's great that it came with this but if you are purchasing this product for a child or do not have a safe place to store it, I would suggest getting a hard case that is studier and will protect the strings. Until I can get a stronger case, I used the thick foam that the ukulele was mailed in to help protect it. It will fit in the carrying bag with both the top and bottom pieces of foam but it fits VERY tightly in the bag. I would suggest storing the ukulele in the bag with just the thin piece of foam on top to protect the strings. I still need to cut an inch or two of the foam down so that it doesn't hang out of the bag but it definitely works for now.As for the sound, the fret action is good, with no fret buzz anywhere up the neck. The tuners do need a bit of adjustment in order to hold pitch but once they are tuned, play is great. If you are purchasing this ukulele with no prior musical knowledge, you will definitely need someone with experience to help you adjust the tuners. The sound is beautiful. We are going to Hawaii later this year and can't wait to learn some songs before we go! My husband (this is his account) plays guitar and is excited to teach our kids how to play the ukulele as well. This ukulele is the best!

Beautiful and high quality
This vastly exceeded my expectations. I got this as an affordable way to get my daughter her own musical instrument. My husband has a guitar and she's very interested in it. I have seen kid guitars, but they are toys and not quality. We follow Montessori principles in our home and we always try to give her high quality and beautiful materials to work with. She is only 2.5 years old, but she's very careful and respectful. She's totally ecstatic about this and immediately started strumming and singing ABCs.As soon as I felt the packaging I was impressed. The box is heavy and has a beautiful minimalist vibe. It immediately gave me a good impression. It was packaged in a form fitting foam and also had a layer of foam on top. Very well protected! You could use this package as a storage case if you wanted. It's very durable. The instrument itself is absolutely stunning for the price you're paying. It came already strung and ready to play. Everything is quite professional and sturdy despite being at such a low price point. I'm really happy with this purchase and definitely recommend it to others.Even though I do recommend this for kids who want an instrument that's their size I would highly suggest parental supervision during use. This is such a quality item and will last for years if taken care of properly. It's also cheap enough that you don't have to be over cautious while letting your child enjoy exploring music. Also, we're totally taking this camping with us so we can sing at the campfire and not lug around a full guitar (got that great idea from the package. Haha)

Great Uke (for $35)
When I got this, I was super stoked. It feels solid, has great sustain, and holds a tune. Sure, there are some quality control issues with the finish, but it was $35, so who cares? That said, once I came back to do my review (two days after getting the ukulele), the price bounced to $47. At that price point, I can't recommend this ukulele. After all, if you can scrape together $10 more, you can get a Kala. And Kala is a brand you know. But if it's for sale for $35, GET IT!!! You won't be sorry. At least I wasn't.If you want to spend more time finding out what I thought about this, hop over to that video site that is so popular (it starts with "You") and look up Kailua (Lark?) Soprano Ukulele Review. You won't be sorry. Actually, you might, but you can at least hear it in action there.Anyway, happy ukuleleing.Additions: The ukulele comes with Aquila Nylgut strings (many consider these the best available strings) and a bag that offers all the protection you would expect from a bag. Also, after thinking about it a couple hours, I couldn't stomach the idea of giving it five stars. So I dropped it a star because of the price point. Sorry, but it has too many imperfections to get a perfect score.

Just WOW!
I am by no means a fancy musician nor do I perform in front of large crowds, but I wanted to take up a new hobby. After visiting Hawaii, and trying out $600 ukuleles I wasn't sure I was ready for that type of commitment. But, I knew I loved the heritage and sound of the ukulele. The price point on this Kailua is perfect & actually very unbelievable for the quality. I was expecting for it to be on the cheaper side as far as quality of the body and the sound. I was wrong! When I pulled it out of the box & bag I was so impressed by the quality and weight of the ukulele. It was gorgeous. I did have to tune it (there's an app for that) & the sound was spot on. I cannot say how utterly impressed I was! My husband heard it and had to come over to play it himself! All of this for under $50-- you can't beat that! Now I can practice my playing, and be ready the next time we visit the island.

Great Quality
My son LOVES this Ukulele! We have no experience with them, but it is easy to hold, great wood quality, and it does come with a bag. We have kept the box for storage as the box is nice and padded, etc where the bag is not. He has learned quickly how to play a few songs. The strings have held up great for being of nylon material, I was not sure what to expect, but the sound is great. My son wanted an easier alternative to a guitar, and this is proving to be it. Its easy to handle, and the neck is not as wide so its perfect for small hands.
