Kidde Pi9010 Battery Dual Photoelectric and Ionization Sensor Smoke Alarm

I purchased this detector to replace our twelve year old Kidde PI9010. The last one was such a great unit. In my opinion, these are the best smoke detectors of all time as they cover you against any type of fire that may happen.

easy to set up and install

Well made, excellent reliability. Hush mode works well. Sensitive, alarm almost always is activated when broiling/grilling in kitchen (that's a good thing!). Did I say the "Hush" button takes care of that? Nine volt battery lasts for a year or more. The unit is good for ten years, and should be replaced....which we just did.

This alarm seems well made, covers critical dual-sensor requirements, and has a replaceable battery -- a big plus for me. (According to reviews here and elsewhere, many of the 10-yr. lithium-battery sensors, though maintenance-free, die and repeatedly beep sometimes long before the advertised lifespan, and you have to discard them as Hazmat; the Post Office may forbid shipping them back for warranty replacement due to the radiation chamber.)I received this item in March, 2023, but the printed date of manufacture is March, 2022. I am losing an entire year of usage and warranty. I am not happy and took off a star because of it. If you can, order from another source and hopefully get a fresh alarm unit.
