Is this or is it not a 5 channel surround sound unit

I believe the comment above about 'If anything I would imagine it'll do matrix surround similar to old dolby prologic' to be correct. It is the old laser disk tech, for example you have 4 channels - down to 2 channels - recoded back to 4 again. The reason I think this is true, is if you do a 5.1 test to separate the speakers, on the back speakers you hear surround in the front left and right as well. This is a result of the matrix recoding, it doesn't always re-code correctly and results in some sound leaking to the front speakers.

Can anyone tell me the true about this item?.., I´d like to buy it..but reading the customer reviews... I have to think twice...

Its advertised at a 100 Watt amp, but its actually 20 watts per channel. So you dont need super expensive speakers to get good sound from it as 20 watts is not a lot of power. I have it as a surround sound for my game room and the sound is really good. All of my speakers are mix match from different companies. It does not come with a quality radio antenna.

Does this have Dolby surround decoding or does it just fake it? I don't see a Dolby logo in the pics.

I contacted the manufacture and they told me it was Dolby Digital. One would assume the they were talking about surround sound . I too did not see a Dolby logo. It was my understanding that anyone using Dolby of any kind , stereo, surround, noise reduction etc. must have the Dolby logo on the item. So I have my suspension as to if this is really Dolby Surround or Dolby of anykind.
