Originally gave this set a very low review because of a bad blade but got a replacement set. Has all the tools and wire samples to give beginners like myself a idea of what is needed or not.

Really quality tool set for the price. I’m new to bonsai and liked that I could get a tool set that didn’t break the bank. The carrying case is a nice plus, helps keep the tools clean and avoid oxidation or rust. Each tool feels solid in the hand, and I’ve been using them almost daily in some regard for the last month. Would buy again.

I just got the set today (April 11), very timely. Happy for that. They look and feel to be quite sufficient for what I need. Plus I love the beautiful wooden box they came in. The only drawback I have has nothing whatsoever to do with the product. And that is who ever delivered the box it came in (along with a couple other items) did not comply with my instructions to leave it at the back/side door and not the front door.

In July of 2023 I purchased a "Bonsai Tools Set with Wood Box". I was very excited about this purchase as I had just begun my experience with Bonsai. When I received the product I immediately opened the box and found that the tools were very stiff and hard to open and close. As I tried each tool I also realized that they were not very sharp. I first tried to use the pruning shears and the standard shears. When I tried to cut a branch that was large, but not too large for the standard shear, they bent under the strain and they are not very sharp. The blades on the concave cutter are also not sharp and the blades don't even close tightly and completely. Except for the root hook and root rake, I have basically given up on using these tools, and have bought other tools that are better and easier to use. Every once in a while I think that I will try to use the concave cutter again, but I am always disappointed and end up using one of my other cutters. I know that it has been a long time since I made the purchase, but I wanted to write this so that you know that while the box is nice and the product has a nice hand-made appearance, they are not well made. It would have been better to buy more expensive stronger and sharper stainless steel tools from a different seller.

What a fabulous set For the price of 2 you get 6 Quality pieces with a Case and enough wire to try wiring some trees. These tools are not the Cheap tools you sometimes find on Amazon. So Glad I got this Set,

Highly recommend - heavy quality tools and the wooden box makes it easy to keep everything in one place. One downside is that there is no dedicated storage space for the wire included.

Awesome tools. Good quality. But I didn't get the wire. Somewhat disappointed
