Are there really only three steps in installing brass hooks?

Yes, there are three core installation steps: hold the hook and nail to the wall, hammer the nail gently, then hang the picture.

Why is the nail guide angled upwards?

The raised nail sockets on the hook guide the nails into your wall at the correct 45-degree angle. This angle ensures maximum support for your wall and hanging hardware. Just make sure to never overhammer as it will damage the hook and your wall.

Is mounting on a wall stud necessary for this hook?

No, installing on a stud is optional. However, note that the maximum weight capacity, 50 lbs, is best achieved by installing on a stud. If you intend to bypass that, we recommend opting for a hook with at least thrice the capacity for your item.

Will it crack the surface of my drywall/plaster wall?

With proper installation, the brass hook penetrates drywall and plaster walls easily while keeping their surfaces intact. Tap the hardened steel nail gently and steadily instead of hammering.

How do I install the hook on a stud?

First, we recommend using a stud finder to find a wall stud in a plaster wall or drywall. Mark the spot, and install the brass hook in that area. The nail will penetrate up to an inch deep and the hook will sit flush with the wall.
