I'm using this hard drive right now! The capacity is more than I need, but it's good to have. It's working perfectly in all respects!!

Honest Mistake
Totally bought this by mistake thinking it was meant for computers and not surveillance systems like DVRs. Seller was nice and understood my mistake. If i had a DVR and needed one of these definitely would buy it 😅

DVR Replacement Drive
The Seagate Drive arrived in great condition and worked perfectly as soon as we installed it in our DVR! Instructions were clear and there were no issues.

ST3500410SV 500gb seagate
I have used this for 30 days and had no problems. It worked right out of the box. A five year warranty comes with this hard drive instead of three years.

G. Cummings purchased for the wrong application. Read the Product Title buddy
In response to G. Cummings negative response above. Read his review. The key word were: windows and had to be formate . This as well as all St and Sv drives from Seagate are specifically SURVEILLANCE VIDEO DRIVES designed specifically for DVR's. They are the only drives I use for years now in my DVRs. I have a security company. They do not fail

Ticking time bomb?
I had read that recently many Seagate drives have been referred to as ticking time bombs. I now think I know what they mean. I bought this drive to be my main recording drive for Microsoft Media Center and Windows 7. The drive technical specifications boasted that it is so reliable you are more apt to win the lottery than this drive failing. After I put the drive in 24 hours 7 days a week service in December, now in February suddenly the drive quit working. Windows came up with a window saying something to the effect "If you want to use this drive it must first be formatted". All of my daughter's cartoons are gone and the drive will not even format if you tell Windows to go ahead and format. About the same time I bought drives from several of the other hard drive manufacturers as well. So far all of them are still working fine. This one is going back for replacement. Seagate will only give me a "refurbished" used drive and not a new one even though it is only a few months old. I have to pay the shipping to send the junk one back and they will not restore any of my data unless I pay them a huge chunk of money for doing so. Now when I get the refurbished drive back I will have a ticking time bomb in my PC waiting to wipe out all of its data on some unknown day in the future...
