Magnum P.I.: The Complete Series [Blu-ray]

This Magnum P.I. blu ray complete series box set contains every episode from the show's eight seasons. The picture quality is very impressive for a show made from 1980 to 1988. I'm still on Series One, but I've enjoyed what I've watched so far. Great location filming in Hawaii, plus an array of guest actors. If you enjoy the lavish shows made by Universal Studios in the 1980s, you'll love Magnum. I can recommend you add this classic show to your collection.

Awesome Blu-ray set brings back memories

The older reviews talked about the disc's being in paper envelopes instead of normal carry cases. This item has real BluRay carry cases. These are the syndicated versions as the classic theme is missing on the first several episodes of Season 1. The original Season one had a very lame non-Magnum opening credit music. And yes I'm sure the 2 part episodes may be missing small parts, but overall this pack is fantastic. Try finding the original Magnum-PI on TV these days. The one channel that had it for a while had the aspect ration all messed up. So this BluRay set is a 100% acceptable alternative.

The disks have 6 episodes on each one. They come in paper sleeves rather than rigid cases or plastic "jewel cases". However, while I haven't played all the series yet, the disks do appear to be in good condition and pictures are clear. I play mine on a large projection screen, so I think the movies are better than they were on my TV years ago. After meeting Tom Selleck a few days ago and hearing him talk about playing Magnum along with back stories, I decided to "binge watch" this series and have not been disappointed! This package even includes 2 episodes of The Rockford Files which I had forgotten he even played in. (BTW, he and "Higgins" really were good friends! And if you are a big Tom Selleck fan, get his new book, "You Never Know".)

Crystal clear, excellent episodes. Greatest series of the 80s.

I love Magnum P.I. and actually purchased each set that has been released. The Blu Ray releases look so much better than the original DVD release. There has been a blu ray release from the Mill Creek in the USA, Fabulous Films in the UK and Elephant Films in France. All Blu Ray quality looks really good to me, but I am no expert. Elephant Films has a nice bonus interview with Donald Bellisario(really good information about the show) and Mike Post(really good interview). The Mill Creek release has interviews with Reuben Leder(really good interview), Chris Abbott(really good interview), Deborah Pratt & Mike Post. Sadly only the original USA DVD release and the UK release have 99% of the episodes uncut. For whatever reason the France & Mill Creek release have most of the two part episodes cut into 2 episodes and they are syndicated cuts. To me this is unacceptable. How can you release syndicated cuts? All four releases have the final 2 hour episode cut into 2 parts. It originally aired in a 2 hour time slot. I remember watching. I'm pretty sure they are syndicated cuts, but I have nothing to compare it to. Overall the 3 Blu Ray releases are such an upgrade from the DVD's. But I have to take a star off for the cut 2 part episodes. Congrats to the UK release for having the most complete episodes.

Had trouble playing this on my PS at first. After I updated the system, it works and WOW the picture and sound is amazing. Must have for Magnum aficionados🤙🏽

One of the best TV series of the 80s, maybe even the best. Packed in a weak cardboard package that started to fall apart as soon as I removed the plastic. The discs were placed in so-called cardboard pockets, 2 discs per pocket, so there are many of those pockets and they easily spread out of the package. And let me mention that even though the title of the product says region code free, at least the box I got is the region code 1 version.

+ Worth every penny when it's half the price + Great slip case and high quality boxes - Region A for a product sold in Europe was not expected, playable on my European PS5 fat though - It's a shame it didn't come with other subtitles besides English since other audio tracks were not present
