Q: No directions imcluded and no cleaning brush

It needs neither instruction or cleaning brush. Just wash in soapy water, rinse and use. I like this for making my sun tea. Its very nice pitcher.

Q: Is the lid airtight when not in use?

It is fairly airtight. It isn't vacuum sealed, but there is a rubber ring around the lid that does a good job of keeping the fruity aroma of the beverage from permeating the fridge.

Q: Can it be microwaved?

I don't think so, the glass is not that thick.
