5425 Plastic 5-Gallon Paint Can Opener, Large, Orange

I keep bird seed and squirrel corn in 5 gallon buckets with leak-proof lids. The lids fit TIGHT! I’m talking’ rip-your-hands-up tight. I needed tight lids to prevent night critters from getting into them. See photo of what the night critters did because I didn’t put the lid on tight. Of course, in doing so, I couldn’t get the lids off without a screwdriver, brute force and more cursing than any lady should do. I ripped my hand open when the screwdriver slipped so I had to find another solution, quick. Found this little jobber. Works like a charm! It’s heavy duty plastic that I anticipate might last many years, if not forever. Easy to use, once you figure out which way to place it. It even has a hole in it so you can attach it to the bucket!

It works, but it took me awhile to figure it out. One has to keep holding up the lid while opening or it will just lock back down. Still requires some strength to open lids. Not super easy to use, but my fingernails do appreciate it; thus it does its job.

Likes: It works and helps a lot with opening plastic bucket lid. Concerns: It is plastic so I am concerned how much punishment and pressure this thing can take. Kept or Returned? Works great for opening 5 gallon plastic paint buckets. Simple tool that makes life much easier if you are doing a painting project. I am using it as a DIY project. Easily durable enough for painting my house but not sure how it would be to use daily as a professional painter. For that you would have to ask them about the durability of daily use. For me it is perfect.

It works fine on Harbor Freight bucket lids...which lock on tight and are hard to get off. It does bend a little but otherwise, works fine.

Pure and simple it does what its designed for. It actually works really well, especially since I sustained injury to my hands months ago and am left with weaker fingers as a result. Having this tool made my work so much quicker, easier and pain free. Kudos to the manufacturer!
