Resolved My Monitor Woes, Quality Yet to Be Tested
I'll admit, I made a rookie mistake 18 months before I purchased this Maxonar Thunderbolt 4 Cable. Being unfamiliar with the distinction between Thunderbolt and USB-C, I had a frustrating 18 months with my second monitor not cooperating when connected to my laptop hub. My attempts with HDMI switches and multiple wires only led to a mess of cables. I had not realised that USBC (Gen 3.1 and mega fast) was not a Thunderbolt cable! However, upon realizing my misunderstanding, I decided to give this Thunderbolt 4 Cable a shot. The results were immediate and gratifying – both HDMI ports on the dock began working seamlessly. Finally, I achieved the dual monitor setup I had been aiming for. As for the cable itself, I'm cautiously optimistic. The immediate functionality improvement makes me hopeful, but I can't yet vouch for its long-term quality and durability. Given my prior misstep, I'm hoping this cable will hold up over time without any hitches. I am happy as this cable has resolved my connectivity issues and untangled my web of wires. While it's too early to definitively assess its quality, I'm content with its current performance and look forward to a clutter-free, dual monitor setup moving forward.

No different from a USB 3 cable
I tested this against a Thunderbolt 3 cable with an Acasis enclosure and a Samsung 970 Evo Plus NVMe. There was very little difference in benchmark tests. Good cable but not worth upgrading from a cable marked ‘3’

Surprisingly slower than an existing USB-C
Bought this to connect an external SSD to a modern iMac with a Thunderbolt port. Recognising that the SSD was USB-C this was purchased to test if the SSD would run the same or quicker than the USB-C cable provided by Samsung. This Thunderbolt cable is claimed to be backwards compatible with Thunderbolt 3 and USB-C. It connected no problem but read/write speeds were significantly slower than using the samsung USB-C cable which should not have been the case. May have been a faulty cable - or maybe not? Returned for a refund.

Connector body too large to fit Sabrent Thunderbolt NVMe Enclosure
I bought this cable to work with my Sabrent Thunderbolt 3 NVMe enclosure https://www.amazon.co.uk/Thunderbolt-Certified-Tool-Free-Enclosure-EC-T3NS/dp/B08FT59SB6 which has a recessed socket. But this cable won't fit because the connector housing is too large. Apple Thunderbolt cable fits fine.
