These aren't super high quality, but they're good and have served my purposes just fine. I use them for projects that I need to connect multiple wires to an enclosure, and I've used them for several projects. No failures! If your need is to have the connector plugged and unplugged multiple times a day, these may not hold up, but they make a good solid connection, they're easy to solder to and mount on the box, and the price is right. I think these are a good choice for most people, they are for me.

These are exactly what they appear....a female midi port. I need to mention there is a slight mislead or oversite .... if you don't know or didn't do your research .... you could get burned. I bought these to install in a computer speaker. The speaker setup required 6 connections or wires. So looking at these 5 pin midi jacks....there are 5 soldier connections on the pins and 1 soldier connection on the sleeve. But a standard midi cable DOES NOT UTILIZE THE SLEEVE!!!!! It is in no way shape or form hooked electrically on a standard midi cable. This oversite is now costing me more time and a little more money because I'm having to replace the jack I just installed with a 6-pin midi port (which should do the job). So the extra soldier nub for the sleeve on these jacks will not help you if using a standard midi cable. Not sure if midi cables exist that utilize the barrel of the connector. The more you know!

There was a cheaper, plastic socket available, but I decided to buy this 4-pack of metal sockets. The price is very reasonable. Construction is excellent, and the mounting holes on the sides will make this much easier to mount. I bought these to make a "Soarer converter" (to use my old keyboard with a modern computer). I'm happy with my purchase.

These are practically unusable. Flimsy, solder adhesion on the tabs was poor because of some coating on the tabs, the plastic can't take the heat of a soldering iron, and right out of the box the contacts are laughably loose in the socket. I knew I should have gone with a reputable brand, but was gulled by the quick delivery time. Avoid!

Using these on a midi clock project. They work great so far.
