Item stopped working after 1 month, what to do?

Ok so by stoped working so you mean completely or has it just fallen odd the network.  If it has fallen off your network easily repair it with the smart app you use to control it.

If it’s physically stoped working check these things
1. When pluged in is it hot to the touch?
(This would indicate a power supply problem. Replace power supply to get it working)
2. Can you hear the motor working but the lever is not moving? ( This would indicate that the drive motor and the gearbox have become disconnected.  Could be a simple tightening of the mount screws to get it going again. But I could be a damaged gear inside the gear box that drives the lever… recommend replacing the unit)
3. Literally has just stopped working, disconnected from the network or app, no sound of motor working, no Motion…. Send it to its grave and replace. The convenient thing about these little units is they are relatively cheap, but that being said not always constructed well or to last. 
I have gone through 8 of these units each one lasting different lengths of time but always died.
Now there ate other ball valve actuators and they do coat a bit more… however they last and last and last…
The unit I paid…. Wait for it….. 150.00 for (At the time of purchase I thought I had lost my mind) has lasted 2 homes and the current apartment. Has has its issues but in the whole has work very well.

Question 3

I have a ball valve on the cooking gas line, can I use this smart valve for opening and closing the valve ?

Yes, it would probably work initially. HOWEVER you have to think about safety in these aspects:
[1] Failure mode when the battery invevitably runs out - the gas valve might not close completely when the battery runs out. This could lead to gas being in the wrong place at the wrong time.
[2] If the ball valve is hard to turn by hand (and they often are), the motorized valve is going to have a tough time and might not be strong enough, or the battery will run out fast (see [1] above)
[3] The motorized valve specifically is labeled for "watering" - this is because the manufacturer does not intend for it to be used in other situations and either has not considered safety issues, or has considered those issues and concluded that those other situations should excluded from the labeling

Question 4

Do previously configured schedule work when the device is offline? E.q. will it turn the water off at scheduled time if the wifi is down at that time?
