This product is great for practicing suturing. The only negative this I have to say is that the suturing “string” would often snap from the needle and it’s not easy to tie back on especially if you have sheet started your suture. Also, it would have been great if the kit instructed you on how to do a proper suture for people who don’t know how to do one. They give you a book of what suture look like which is nice but they don’t tell you how to do one.

Set yourself apart from the crowd by completing a FULL SUTURE INTENSIVE before your interview!! I LOVE THIS COURSE! Everything is so well explained and the Surgeon/Author obviously knows his stuff! I was thrilled when, after following the instructions and reviewing the demonstrations on the videos, I was able to tie a surgeons knot on the multi-wound simulation suture pad. All of the materials you need are in the case except gloves. I recommend you buy gloves to fit snugly and suture with them on right from the start. The instrumentation included was not the cheapo kind and performed well. You can complete an online assessment module and receive a Suturing Certificate with the purchase of the mini or standard kit. I am tempted to buy the larger, Standard Suture kit as well -just for fun!

For the price, this is a very solid suture kit. The tools and sutures appear to be good quality. The practice pad isn’t great but it’s pretty much what I expected. Also, some people have said they wished it came with more instruction but the seller messages you with the links to several manuals and tutorials. Overall, would definitely recommend for medical students looking for a basic suture kit.
