Q: Is there a possibility of getting extra remotes for this unit?

Id say no.. unless you buy your own that are programable...?

Q: What are the type of batteries needed?

I used a CR2032 Lithium button battery. Since the only directions was a wiring diagram, in French! I had to determine the size in a hit or miss fashion , by trying different 3v button batteries until one fit well. I have been using both remotes for a couple of months and they work well. I tried to load a picture, but this site only supports video.

I returned the product because it would not work in my truck.

Bettery CR2032 in remotes. No instructions, simple schematic, without explanation. Youtube has some good videos, installing this though.
