Vertx Dead Letter Sling Pack, Multicam Black

This is a great little bag. I can carry my AR 15 pistol with a 7.5 inch barrel and a 30 rd mag inserted in the gun completely hidden. I have a folding pistol brace so it is totally hidden. I can also carry a small pistol and extra mags as well. I have the capability of carry a laptop as well because there is a spot for that as well. I am very pleased with this.

I have been using the same Vertx Commuter bag for the past six years and loved it. It held up far better than any other bags I have used over the years. It is still in great shape. I now have to carry a few more everyday essentials, and my EDC wasn't enough to hold everything. I did much research and found the Vertx Dead Letter Sling. I can rig it for different needs, as a backpack sling (my primary use), as a shoulder bag, or carry it like a briefcase. It does a great job of holding my 16" laptop and the rest of my gear, including my rain jacket. The only improvement I would make is to add a few more zippered pouches on the interior so I can compartmentalize it better. I liked this bag so much that I went and purchased the Vertx SOCP to have something with a small profile.

Awesome bag (build and materials), but it’s only really useful for thin things papers binders laptops and tablets. So it’s more like a laptop bag/ office bag.

Color is better in person

I’ve been using this pack for several months now. I love the versatility. Right shoulder or left shoulder setup. I’m righty, but for tac reasons prefer left set up. I definitely recommend their velcro holster and mag holders. It has more tactical room than I need but that’s not a complaint. I wanted a bag that met my needs for computer, pad, calculator, and couple small tools, and quick access. You could easily set this bag up for dual full size frame guns, noise reduction devices… etc. A plus for versatility and modularity. So far quality of materials is great too.

It’s a well made bag, but it’s absolutely massive. It’s too bulky and clunky for the limited storage space it provides. It attempts to be a “CCW undercover” type bag but it draws so much attention being as obnoxious as it is.It’s also pretty uncomfortable to shoulder.

Not easy to use tactigami in the public area (laptop sleeve) as the fabric is to pliable and anything stuck to it causes it to sag. Not conducive to organization.Only marginally better with a laptop and iPad in the laptop sleeve and securing strap as tight as possible. Still pulls down on the fabric and tilts toward the opposite side.They should have backed that panel with a thin plastic panel to provide a more rigid mounting surface for their tactigami line.

So I have purchased 4 bags and a hoodie from Vertx. Love their gear. Last week I purchased a dead letter sling bag. I messaged their customer service with a question about my Vertx sling. How do I tell if commuter or transit? Response where did you buy it? From you. Response we see several things in your purchase history but not that. So your not going to answer my question. Response here is a copy of your 5 previous purchases, there is no transit/commuter. Ummmm ok. So you proved I am a repeat customer. How do you know I did not purchase signed in as guest? Well Vertx….by not answering a simple question and hassling me, you lost a customer’s. I guess 5.11, Viktos or any other Veteran owned company will treat me better. Ohhh btw. Im saving the email just in case. Vertx reads this and calls me out.
