The Spring Bar tools can vary in price. Some being more towards the £20 mark. This one being just under £5. The tool did the job, and allowed me to remove my original Garmin Forerunner 955 strap that just suddenly snapped. I now have quick release straps instead. The tool stood up to the task, and no bending was observed. I did question whether the prong tip was going to survive (hence I've given it a 4 star), but it did the job... and for a Fiver one cannot complain. When changing the strap... you need good light and good vision (20/20) or good glasses or magnifying lens as it is fine work.

Strong, sturdy and easy to use. Amateur here, and bought it to help replace a rotten strap. Saved me well over half by buying this and doing it myself. For a first time, it took about 5 minutes and was strong too. Would definitely recommend to anyone thinking of having a go.

Overall, I think this is a good watch band tool and replacement kit, and the quality actually seems nice for the price. The replacement band itself looked great, and the tool worked fine in general. However, I wanted to leave this review specifically for anyone trying to replace the band on a Shark/Freestyle watch like mine. The spring bar on my watch was extremely difficult to remove, and the forked end of the tool kept slipping off because the space around the bar was too tight and shallow. I ended up scratching the watch a little trying to get enough grip on it. I don’t necessarily think that’s completely the fault of this tool — I think it’s more of an issue with certain Shark watch designs being difficult to work with — but I do wish I had known beforehand that this setup may not work well for that style of watch. I’ll probably have to take it to a jeweler to have the band changed professionally. So if you have a standard watch with accessible spring bars, this will probably work great. But if you have a Shark/Freestyle watch with tight recessed spring bars, just be aware it may not be compatible or may require professional help. The included tool may be too small or not shaped correctly for that particular watch design.
