I still need the regular old peripheral USB cable for connecting to my MIDI keyboard , and this saves me needing a special cable. I can use the existing USB-C cable that now solves for 99% of my peripherals, and just keep this handy for when I need it.

Why do all printers come with this type of USB? Regardless, now I don't have to keep a cable around just for that. The only improvement I'd love to see is for them to be more compact, maybe a right angle. With a cable plugged into this plugged into the back of a device you might need a few inches of clearance.

it doesn't seem to work with usb otg, at least with my phone and one device on the other end, but works great with all the computer ports I've tried it with

I recently got a computer than only used usb-c ports and didn’t want to add to the list of usb-A cables i had to carry around just for one device. This makes it very simple for me to keep an adapter and use the usb-c cables I already have, and it works very well with my MIDI Keyboard. Highly recommend as a tool to keep with you if you travel, or just happen to need a connection to a printer or midi device.
