I recently had the chance to visit the Iowa State University Reiman Gardens for their bonsai show, which was an eye-opener for anyone interested in this ancient art. Inspired by what I learned there about getting started with bonsai, I picked up this incredible bonsai tree kit. The shears are a standout - hand-forged, high-quality, and they have this beautiful heft to them but require a bit of oil to keep rust at bay. This kit has everything you need to begin your journey: gloves, various tools for shaping and maintenance, detailed instructions that echo what I learned at the show, a useful towel, and wire for training the branches. This little kid is perfect for any person that has succulents or any kind of indoor plants. It comes in a neat little binder that contains everything perfectly. It comes with nearly everything you need except a watering can to keep those plants alive. Both of the scissors and pruning shears are extremely sharp. With wide handles so that you can use them with gloves on. They seem to be very well built, and I can’t wait to try them out.

My kit came oiled, just needs a wipe and ready to use. Absolutely thrilled to have this quality kit for my bonsai, Miagi, (I name plants) my bamboo plant, Myrtle. I bought this set for taking care of my bonsai trees — I have a few, including a big one. There are a lot of tools, and everything is stored neatly in one place — in a convenient zip-up case. I even added a few of my own tools, and everything fit perfectly. The set is designed for small plants, but I’ve already used it for seedlings and saplings — it’s very handy and keeps everything within reach. The scissors (they’re like pruners) are positioned as bonsai tools, but they work great for other plants too — I’ve tried them on roses, and they worked perfectly. I’m still figuring out what the wire is for, but I’ll figure it out later)

Great gift for a friend of mine. After visiting a bonsai museum in Tokyo, we were all very interested in trying to grow these beautiful plants. These tools are all you will need, except for the tender loving care.
