New brothread Sticky Tear Away Embroidery Stabilizer 12" x 15 Yd roll

I purchased this product and had it in my mind that it was an 'iron on' adhesive. Clearly, the site said it was 'self-adhering' stabilizer. If you are curious, it was a disaster, the fabric was ruined, the stabilizer didn't adhere, and I was stunned by the failure. I wrote a scathing review which has been removed by me. The Vendor contacted me and asked a few questions, they did respond with a thoughtful offer, and I felt they wanted to resolve the issue and politely did so. Thank you Brothread, I love this product (when used correctly), and will be checking out the threads that you sell. The thread, by specific design, is set to stay organized with little or no effort on my part. The price is a lot less than other threads and the convenience is terrific.

Works GREAT! At first, it was a little difficult to get the covering to separate from the sticky, but once I figured it out, it became very simple. What a $$$ saver!

So far I have used the product on hats, flannel, quilters cotton and satin. It is awesome!! Much less waste as you can just stick it where you need it. peels off easy and tears away great. That being said, watch your needle. Go at a slower speed (which I like a little slower speed anyway as I feel like the stitching comes out better). If after a bit you see a little gumming up on the needs stop the machine and wipe the needle with some alcohol (let it dry). that being said...I can usually get through a smaller embroidery design with no issues (maybe a little residue on the needle, but nothing that caused a problem). If you have a larger design and notice gumming part way through then just clean the needle off. I usually just pick it off and wipe it with my fingers. Only once did I feel like I needed to wipe it with alcohol, but I had done a few designs that day and was going kind of fast. LOVE THIS PRODUCT!

Even by following the directions; special needle, sewer's aid, slow speed, my Babylock Ellisimo could not tolerate this product. In short, it refused to create stitches. For all of that, the adhesive wasn't very sticky. So if you need to re-position your fabric, this might work for you...if that same adhesive doesn't prevent your machine from making stitches. Fortunately, I still had stick tear away from another purveyor that sells on Amazon that is more sticky and allows me to create beautiful designs. My test project used 20" of the 10' of product, so I can't return it.

Easy to use, sticks well, tears off easily

I use this sticky, tear-away embroidery machine stabilizer for all of my ITH (In The Hoop) projects. It doesn't require any additional support for embroidered cards (my most recent crafty obsession). Even the densely-stitched ziz-zag to finish the raw edges doesn't rip through this stabilizer. It's easy to hoop once you've done it a time or two, the peelable paper side up. Then score an "X" using something sharp (like used machine needles) after it's hooped. Peel up the paper to expose the sticky, miracle tear-away that doesn't want to rip until you tell it to. Be careful not to press down too much while positioning things in the hoop—you may fight to get it off! I do mainly small projects (5"x7" or 8"x8" hoops), but on occasion, I've used it with quilts to embroider designs directly onto the "quilt sandwich" (top, batting, backing). It takes some wrangling at the machine to make a flat embroidery surface (with folds of the quilt everywhere). I urge you to try this product if you're looking for an effective and affordable tear-away stabilizer.

i USUALLY USE A DIFFERENT BRANT FROM MY name brand sewing center but I thought I would try and save money. this DOES work just like it. I have purchased a few more and good for the price.. saved at least five dollars a roll this way.
