I have always had sensitive skin and a tough beard. I tried my Dad's Sunbeam electric razor, later, the Norelco single, double, and triple rotary head style electric razors and they were all about the same. Not as close shave as with a triple blade safety razor,but I could live with that, the fact that my face looked and felt so rough that my Doctor asked what had happened to my throat. The skin was red and looked like the blades had caught my skin somehow. The cordless razors have come so far by now I wanted to give them another try. I got a $70 Phillips Norelco and though it did a passable job on my face, when I tried to use it on my throat it felt like I was getting nicked. It was very uncomfortable and unacceptable. I went back to a razor blade and gel. The other day I went to get a haircut and decided I wanted My full beard off. They used an electric clipper with a 1/8 clipper guard on it so they could avoid my being caught in the clipper blades. When I saw that this series 8 would shave a 3 day beard, I wanted to give it a try. At 72 I'm skeptical of claims such as this, and wanted to try it myself.There's a difference between a $70 shaver, and a $30 one. Since it was Prime day I found a good deal on the series 8. It arrived today, I charged it and shaved my face including my neck, and am surprised by the comfortable shave I received. I won't know until tomorrow if I break out on my throat area, but it was a better experience than I have ever had with any electric or cordless razor. I have not used the Charger cleaning station as yet, instead just plugged the charger cord into it for an hour. I like the idea of the cleaning station, but haven't got a lot of counter space for a stand. The cleaning cartridge is huge. A box of several could take a lot of shelf space.

I have used electric razors for years, but never owned a Braun razor. Have always been told they're the best electric razor you can buy. Never believed it before, but now, day 1 of using a Braun is behind me. And I can only say WOW! Today was the best shave I've ever had from an electric razor. Not only did it provide the closest shave I've ever had, it did it in ½ the time it usually takes me to shave. I am totally impressed with this razor. If you are in the market, this is the one you should seriously consider. You will not be disappointed!

I've had this razor for a year. I used it once a week. For me it must be wet to glide on skin well. I like the cleaning caddy. I remove the tank of ethanol after each cleaning and seal it to prevent evaporation. There must be a way to refill the tank, not keep replacing them.

I have been using it for two months and the overall effect is very good. It is much cleaner and faster than the Philips shaver I used before. But sometimes shaving will drop powder on clothes or the table. I thought it would not fall off after cleaning. The difference between it and the Philips shaver is that the Philips shaver has a large powder storage compartment and will not shed powder if it is not cleaned for a long time. However, this product will shed powder after one or two days of use. The attached rechargeable cleaning compartment is very convenient, but the cleaning fluid is a consumable and needs to be replaced with new cleaning fluid in about two months.

I have a 18 yr old Series 3. I've replaced the OEM head with OEM heads as needed. It still works a new, but the shave was more of a "weekend and vacation" quality shave.I didn't really need to buy this, but wanted to give it a go hoping for a closer shave with the series 8 head, although I wasn't expecting much.It does shave closer and faster than the old more noisy series 3. It's not quite a blade shave, but it seems close enought to a good shave for better than weekend company. The series 8 OEM head replacements are pretty spendy, so I hope the head works well for months. I used the old 3 off and on, sometimes not using it for months, so head replacements were infrequent.I didn't use the 3 with foam, I don't expect to use this one wet either.

I've owned the Braun Series 7 shaver for around 8 years and it still outperforms this Series 8. The shave is ok, but it does snag my facial hair quite a bit. The build quality seems to feel cheaper than my Series 7. Overall I don't feel like the shaver is worth the money. I still prefer to use my older shaver.

I have sensitive skin and my barber recommended this product. I’ve had it a couple months and it’s been amazing. Holds a very long charge, gets a razor close skin shave, cleaning is easy. I highly recommend.

This shaver works great. It glides over my face with no skin burns. The cleaner is great.
