is the container air tight?

It does not have a rubber gasket. So it is as tight as any plastic container. It does snap closed. The lid is tight. It will probably get lose over time as the plastic wears down. If you want it more air tight, I’d recommend putting plastic wrap between the container and lid. I feel it is sufficient enough for a couple of days storage if you are meal prepping.

I use these to pack adult lunchables. I am able to put a really good sized portion in each compartment. It is enough to satisfy my 6’4” husband who doesn’t always have time to stop and eat a regular meal for lunch. They are a hard plastic so the top is rigid and not flexible. There is also no inner seal so they are not leakproof where you could pack any liquids.

I love that I got so many pieces in this set and they are wonderful for making my kids lunches. They feel sturdy and close well but I have already had several break. Not sure if my kids are being rough with them at school or if it's the quality of the items.
