Best product and lowest price.
Fast shipping. My orchids responded in 2 days after replanting. Big pieces of wood. Much better than the low quality big name brand. No smell. Not wet. Over joyed with results. I'll never purchase anything else again. Top quality perfect for my orchids. No little filler pieces.

High quality
Exactly what I needed to repot my monstera plant- which was rapidly dying in the standard potting soil I had it in before hand, after using this and mixing it with regular potting soil 2:1, my monstera plant is absolutely THRIVING.

Well balanced, complete package.
I spent a lot of time learning how to care for my orchids, theirs a lot of conflicting info out there so what I did was add in some common sense, I weighed what I learned about my orchids against what I was being told, for example it is completely irrational to water my orchids from a tropical humid south east Asia climate with ice cubes. With that said I took the information I have on how the these orchids thrive in their natural habitats and looked for something that fit my idea of perfect and found this potting mix. I love the building blocks that are natural ingredients in this product and the fact that it has no moss is a plus in my book. Moss retains moisture and these orchids do best on a wet dry cycle. My potting mix is completely dry in seven days, exactly what my orchid needs. These orchids are highly susceptible to root rot, you donโt want anything like moss retaining moisture in your pot, that only encourages root rot and itโs so easy to get in these orchids. I wouldnโt take the time or the expense for all the ingredients it would take to make your own potting mix when this is a well balanced complete nutrition potting mix you wonโt come close to for the money, not to mention the hassle.

Nice, but need tweaking
A nice mix. Bark naturally repels water, so need breaking in, but drying out in 3 days is too quick. Repotted orchid in a 4.5in pot then soaked the pot in water for 15 mins. After 3 days, pot seem light/dry out. Soaked it in a pot of water for 15 mins again. Another 3-4 days pass and the pot seem light again. Flipped the pot over on a table to confirm. Yes, the mix was confirmed to be dry. I added sphagnum moss and repotted. Should work, just need to find the right bark to moss ratio. Better to have tested the mixture before repotting. Oh well, hindsight.

Great stuff But not Always necessary
Great stuff. However, bloom boosters are not always necessary with orchids. Check out your orchidโs requirements for fertilizer and feeding before you buy any bloom boosters.

Phalenopsis specific mix
Nice sized chunky bark with charcoal chunks and perlite chunks. Great for orchid health. No bugs in mix. Fast draining. Great mix.

My grocery store orchid is thriving in this mix, in spite of me!
About a year ago, I received two beautiful baby grocery store orchids crammed into 2" pots as a gift. It was a thoughtful gift, and I wanted desperately to keep them alive. But houseplants and me usually don't go well, unless it's the nearly indestructible pothos. Orchids seemed very complicated. After blooms where done, the leaves started to yellow, even though I was watering very sparingly. With the help of AI (thanks Grok!), I discovered the poor mossy planting medium was retaining all that moisture and never really drying out, resulting in horribly rotted roots. I stumbled through the process of trimming all the dying roots and carefully removing and tossing all that horrible and wet moss medium, and sought out a medium specific to my grocery store orchid. AI recommended this specific mix. I moved the trimmed orchids from their 2" plastic pots into 5" orchid specific pots with this mix, trying best to spread the roots in it without further damage. I know that was a big jump in size, but I didn't want to have to do it again any time soon, so hoped that they would eventually adjust to the much larger apartment and be happy. The medium is VERY chunky and VERY large, and just seemed too much for my tiny traumatized plants with very little root structure left. I'm not at all used to plants that require so much aeration, so it just felt wrong. But without much choice, I figured, "little plants, it's do or die time for you. Please like this new environment I am offering!" It's been about 7 months, and now the two green leaves that were remaining on each plant have now become 5 nice healthy green leaves. And yesterday, I noticed each plant had what I thought were aerial roots growing. But closer inspection shows these are flower spikes. How exciting is that!! My suffering and traumatized little orchids are going to flower the very next year, in spite of all that mess and so many changes, and abrupt relocations into pots more than twice the size they were in! So they must really like this mix. It can't possibly be me that they like, could it? This mix shows no sign of decay in the 7 months my plants have been residing in it, and looks like it will hold up for a long time. All those gaps in the medium due to the chunkiness of the content don't bother the plants at all. What do I know? So my little plants are happily growing and surviving in their new digs, in spite of me. I think they would let me know if they didn't like the mix they were living in, but they are thriving with no complaints. So I don't have any complaints either. :)

Not bad
Frankly i was expecting better quality. It has what it says but the bark pieces are too chunky, the charcoal and the other ingredients are there but looked like in trace amounts. Iโm not so happy with this mix and if that was supposed to be one of the best options in the market, then making your own mix is may better and for that price way cheaper.
