Put it in a junction box next to a smoke alarm in furnace room. Used a little chunk of NMD90 between the two. I have my alarm system (zone definition) set to monitor this input 24x7, this links via EyesOn out to my phone with an Invisalink(sp?) Ethernet alarm board (uses ISP communication vrs modem land line). Works well. I wanted to better protect our dog when we go shopping. DCS alarm system does not have to be activated to monitor the smokes, and notify our cell phones. Note, a 9Vdc signal relayed could likely replace this board, as I don't use most of its functionality, but this worked nice. I only used the dry contacts output. I think I needed EOL resistor for this input type. Fun project, for piece of mind.

Bought it to meet the requirement from city to shut down the furnace in case of fire. Installation is easy and works very well with the hard wired smoke alarm. Need to read the manual carefully before installation.
