Q: Can the airline clog?

We have hundreds of users, many of them using our system everyday, so we know it is not something that is not common. The only time this is even possible is when harvesting the shrimp when the air is off, eggs, shells, or shrimp could possibly back flush into the airline. Once the shrimp are harvested, turning the air on again and either starting another bacth or cleaning the system should prevent even the posisbility of this occuring. Allowing the eggs, shells, and shrimp to dry in the system without cleaning it may cause a clog. In that case, you should be able to clear the airline with a piece of pipe cleaner or a small diameter wire, but we have not tried this as we have not encountered the problem. If you have an issue, please contact us so we can help.

Q: Does this have to be glued together?

No, it does not need to be glued. The legs are attached securely with stainless steel hardware and is very stable and sturdy, especially with water in the bottle when assembled without any adhesive. It is also easily able to be taken apart for storage and for cleaning when not being used as well. For the deluxe model, if you are not concerned about ever needing to disassemble the unit, you can use a few drops of cyanoacrylate adhesive (super glue) or silicone sealant to attach the legs and base together, but we doubt you will find this necessary.

Q: How can I order replacement washers? Mine both disinterested.

The custom gaskets have been tested to last for hundreds of uses, but if there is a burr on either the plug or the bottle, or some debris gets between the plug and gasket, the gasket will deteriorate more quickly. Some cleaning solutions, such as clorax, may also degrade the gaskets more quickly. Q: Can this be used as a baby brine shrimp enrichment container?

I don't know why not, so long as the gut of the baby brine shrimp (nauplii) are fully formed, which is at about 24 hours post-hatching.
