Better than original, and much better than "cheaper" antennas
Compared to others, this one actually improves the RF output. I bought others that degrade output (as measured on my Service Monitor). The original Baofeng antennas are actually pretty good, presenting 50 Ohm impedance and good signals. This antenna added a noticeable dB signal increase on both 2-M and 440 Mhz.I've had other antennas that appear to be a 50 Ohm carbon film resistor inside the base, presenting a nice 50 ohm load, but no signal output. An antenna should RADIATE RF, not just be 50 Ohm impedance. A Dummy load can be a perfect match, but ZERO output.This is a good antenna in my opinion. I've returned cheaper ones, and kept this one.

Great item
Very nice quality with super fast shipping too. They are a little thinner than I wanted but it's no problem because they work great and fit snug with no gaps on my Baofeng 888s. I will buy more of these when needed.

Work as advertised, however like most antennas designed for overseas use, the optimum SWR its just slightly outside the U.S. Amateur bands. Quality is not bad for the price.

Gives better coverage than my factory issued. However it broke.
Currently using this on patrol with the sheriff's office. Had it for a month. Gives better coverage than my factory issued.UPDATEIt broke just above the base. Seems like with so many breaking they would reinforce this area. Maybe heat shrink or something.
