HONEYSEW Free Motion Quilting Template Series 5 with Quilting Frame for Domestic Sewing Machine Ruler (Swirl Template)

I have never machine quilted before and my machine needs to be in good working order. I need a new belt. So it stops stitching ang if your still moving the template. So you have inaccurate design and crazy stitch length.

I am a beginner with quilting and I really wanted these rulers to work. First thing I had to get was the right presser foot for my machine which is low shank. Most Presser feet that say low shank did not fit my machine. Once I got the right foot the rulers worked but, they are pretty flimsy alone and it’s difficult to get a good grip causing slipping out of the ruler. So I got the guide - the guide is just slightly too big for the ruler so it was still slipping out of the guide and all over- a little painters tape to hold the ruler in the guide did the trick. Finally they work great and I am really enjoying playing with them on my practice sandwiches. I think I’m ready to do my first real quilt with the rulers.

I just received this ruler it came as a square as in the picture with directions, but it's wider than 1/4 inch. I made the first twirl,but had to keep the ruler to the inside edge to get an even circle, then when it's finished keep your needle down and flip the ruler around to make your second one. When I was making the second one I was trying to hold the ruler in place against the inside edge and keeping it down on the fabric. Then the ruler popped up and my needle got stuck in the plastic. I thought my machine was ruined but managed to get it out. I thought I could make it work but not worth the risk of breaking my sewingmachine... This is most likely a 1/2 inch ruler, which should be in the product description. If it were a1/4 inch I think it would work well.

I like the open frame bottom for easy changing of templates. It takes a lot of hours of practice.

Very disappointed in product compared to description. "Quilting Template Series 5 with Quilting Frame" is the description but what you get is just the template. No instructions or how to use information. Template is very thin but prefect for low shank sewing machines. I like the swirl and will be looking for instructions on how to use. I do not recommend this for a beginner.
