Fantastic pencil and scribe tool !

It’s great and it works best for skirting/plinth however the bolts/tightening mechanism is still too loose even when fully tightened. If you put any pressure on the pencil or put too much pressure on the item you’re scribing the pencil moves and you have to readjust. Recommend for horizontal use or flat surfaces and not vertical. If you replace the bolts with something more industrial it would be 5 stars.

Good value. Does the job. Only gripe is the foam inlay is too tight a fit and actually pushes the pencil out instead of holding it in place but that's just being picky.

Really useful for Marking out. Writes well on most surfaces, especially melamine board which is normally a pain. Haven't used the scribe yet but feels solidly built

If an item could score minus stars, this would be it. Where to start? Tracer deep hole pencils are good, although similar items are also good, at the a fraction of the price. I bought a Tracer branded deep hole pencil a good while ago, but when the internal leads started getting low, I found it cheaper, by a lot to buy a set of two unbranded deep hole pencils that came with 40 spare leads. They fit perfectly in the Tracer pencil. The main reason for buying this Tracer branded Pro-Scribe is for the expectation of a well made, solid scribe jig. How wrong and disappointed was I. I bought this on discount at £30.00, £10.00 cheaper that the standard selling price. If you don't already own a Tracer Deep Hole Pencil, and lead holder, then this will at least soften the disappointmen unless of course you get one minus the lead holder, as i did. The whole draw for me was purely the scribing jig and case to keep it all in. The case is well made, as is the pencil. I can't testify for the lead holder, as mine was missing. This didn't matter as I already had a Tracer pencil and lead holder so nothing was gained there. But I did like the quality of the case. What a pity, the scribe jig wasn't of equal quality. I going to just come out and say it. The scribe jigs build quality is shocking. Even tightening the knurled tightening screw, tightened to the maximum tightness, the pencil still moves. Even tightening the arm as tight as possible certainly stops the arm moving, but there is so much play, the whole arm rocks around, such is the build quality. If you were to use this in a professional capacity, I wouldn't even give this a lifespan of a few days, it is that bad. The plastic is cheap and even only toying with this a handful of times, already it is showing signs of wear. This item will reflect very badly for the Tracer Brand. I do know that if this was my first Tracer product, then it would also be my last. There are cheaper, non branded items out there, constructed of alloy. This item shall be going back, for me to look elsewhere for a more reliably built product. I'm not impressed with this in the slightest, and will be returned. I suggest that prospective buyers also don't waste your time and look elsewhere, it will save you the hassle of trudging to the post office to return it. The fact that this item came minus the lead holder also shows quality and check control issues.

This is a great marking device. The pencil can be used on its own and it is the best I have ever worked for handyman or wood working tasks.
