A group of eccentric college kids, struggling to get through their hectic exams, decide to throw a holiday party, adding a Secret Santa exchange for fun. Little do they know a killer is in town and has made a special list and each one of them has a special present waiting for them. A throwback to classic holiday horror film from the 70s and 80s.

Perfectly adequate low-budget slasher... but I have a gripe
The movie's fine. If you enjoy shoestring-budget slasher films and are willing to be a little patient, this one does the trick. The movie now having been duly praised, I have a minor gripe. There's an unwritten rule of slasher films. If you establish that your killer has a "thing", then you have to stick to that. If you're making "Nail Gun Massacre" and you establish that your killer kills people with a nail gun, that's what you do. You don't have them kill one random passerby with a screwdriver, it violates your premise.By the same token, if you're making a movie called "Secret Santa" and you establish that your killer kills people with the objects they received in their Secret Santa presents, that's what you do. You don't also arbitrarily slit the throat of some unrelated cabbie just because he's there. He's not part of it, he didn't get a present, leave him alone. I mean it was a really nice throat slit, don't get me wrong, but it was way off brand. It's called "diluting your premise", which is a filmmaking term I just made up.Rant over, thanks for reading this far.

Great Premise Unlike the Chicken never crosses any roads.
I didn't hate this movie at all. I didn't come anywhere near loving it. It's hard to really say what I thought about it so I will just say this. It is a middle of the road film. The Acting is middle of the road not great or horrible. The Direction, Lighting, Script, Costumes and Other notable features were all right where they didnt really impress but didnt pull you out of the movie. There were attractive women and gore both needed in a good horror movie. But the women stopped just short of intriguing and impressing. The gore as well was at the brink but never got over it. I must say that there were moments in the movie that would make it camp but it was too held back and rigid to be that either. So I spent an hour and a half almost and I cant recommend or warn to avoid this movie. It is what it is and I cant really see anyone really hating or loving it. Its just gonna sit right in the middle so 3 of 5 is right where it belongs.

Silly, but highly entertaining!
I wouldn't say this is a good movie, but I love it just the same. The characters are very entertaining, and the humor is genuinely weird and memorable. If you can appreciate silly humor and don't mind a dash of it in what is supposed to be a " scary" movie, then this is for you!

Includes a fun Lorena Bobbitt inspired kill!
There was nearly an hour of unnecessary dialogue bundled with a weak story line and a lot of the After Effects "grindhouse" effect, which I'm not a fan of personally. This film would have been a lot better had it been a short film (30-40 minutes). Some parts felt like they dragged on too long. The kills were awesome though! I really enjoyed the blow dryer kill! And the actors/actresses did a great job in my opinion. Definitely worth a watch if you're drinking and heckling with your buddies!

A Great Surprise!
When I saw the description I thought "Great. Another no-budget Santa slasher." Well, sorta, but it's not JUST another no-budget Santa slasher; it's one of the best I've seen in a long time. Why? Because it doesn't take itself too seriously. It's not a stretch to call it a horror comedy. There are some very intentional laugh-out-loud moments (and of course, a couple not so intentional). Apparently, much of the movie's budget went to the bloody special effects, which are very good for a movie like this. But the film has age signs throughout it like a B-movie grindhouse film. The movie is what it sets out to be: a cheap, fun, gore-filled slasher film. Don't think about it too hard, just relax, and have fun.

The right way to do a self aware horror movie!
As the headline says this is the right way to do a self aware horror movie! It was hilarious and knew what it was trying to do the entire time. The characters had me laughing and the kills actually made me jump and cringe when I wasent expecting them. Definitely a great movie to put on for a night in with friends to have a good laugh and even still a bit of scares!

Homage?....NOT
NOT A TRUE HOMAGE TO 70’s let alone 80’s horror flicks. This is a complete millennial misrepresentation. First off not everyone in the 80’s snorted coke and there’s not a single 80’s horror film that’s worth anything ever HAD TO show that to make it memorable. Second, there’s barely any gore (definitely a millennial sign) and third the plot is barely passable because of the power drill, other than that, the movie flat out STINKS. Dear Director, next time you think of a true 80’s homage watch Prom Night & My Bloody Valentine a few thousand times to achieve what u failed to do here.

Great low budget Christmas horror slasher!
I watched it for the first time last year and I really enjoyed it. I decided to watch it again and give it a rating, and yes, it deserves those 5 stars. Loved the cast and the plot with the characters having a secret Santa. It's hilarious how the killer mixed up all the gifts with different murder weapons to be used later. The gore effects were really good too. I plan to watch this every December.
