The UK underground entity only known as Sleep Token, fronted by Vessel, began the Sundowning ritual on June 20th 2019 with 'The Night Does Not Belong to God'. Sleep Token began to release their 'offerings' bi-weekly, released Thursday's at Sundown BST with accompanying visualisers. Each offering had its own emblem, establishing the Sleep Token universe on their debut album 'Sundowning'. On June 18th 2021 the cycle begins again but born anew. 'This Place Will Become Your Tomb', pushes the boundaries of Sleep Token's sound into new avenues of blurring genres while still retaining the signature sounds you'd expect.

Sleep Token - My new musical obsession (2)
I came across Sleep Token probably a few months ago, but didn't really listen to their music (don't ask me why, I have no answer). My other half wasn't too keen and thought they were "gimmicky", which is true to an extent I suppose, but that's no different to a lot of other musicians, is it? Anyway ... Probably about 2-3 months ago now, I heard "Take Me Back To Eden" and wondered why I'd taken so little notice of them until then. I listened to some more of their music on YouTube, realised I needed it iny life and bought all three of their current albums, this being one of them. And as it's their second, that's where the number two in my review title comes from. I think they really are everything I've been looking for on music for at least the last few years. Lyrically, I would say that Vessel (the lead vocalist, for people that don't know anything about them) is a genius. Everything is very profound and quite thought-provoking. In any one song you can get music that will cover two or three genres, with elements of rock, rap, soul and what could be described as vocal fry (the really growly stuff). They really do have to be listened to to be believed. But don't take my word for it. Listen with an open mind and heart, hear the lyrics and I don't think you will be disappointed.Worship

Apparently it's the only Sleep Token cd that comes with an art booklet, still cool though.

Excellent album
TPWBYT is the second part of a trilogy from the anonymous mask band - Sleep Token. An excellent album, blending angst pop with catchy clever metal and a splash of synthwave makes Sleep Token an interesting and emotional listen. Really looking forward to the next part of their story.
