The price of these filters, @ $45, is outrageous. You can buy them directly from Chemex online for about $10, plus $10 shipping, which is still less than than half the cost of buying from this seller. You can also order through Williams Sonoma—I just ordered TWO 100-count boxes, and the shipping was a little less than $8–so double the quantity was $28, still less than 2/3 of the cost of one box here. If you live somewhere where it’s convenient to pick them up locally, one box is just slightly under $10 almost everywhere.

Q: Why are these so expensive, at my boutique kitchen sho the same box is 10 dollars?

Cost Plus World Market has 100 count unbleached Chemex filters for 9.95. Just bought them there yesterday. Now I see I should have bought more. Price gouging at it's finest.

Q: Do these filters work for the 3 cup chemex?

I have been using these square filters in my larger Chemex as well as my 3-cup for decades. While the FP-2 Half Circles are explicitly designed for the 3-cup they are not the only option. These squares come pre-folded into quarters. I simply fold them one more time and they fit the 3-cup perfectly.

Yes it is. It contains only natural, unbleached wood pulp in the manufacturing process.
