You can't use just one hand to catch a ball in this baseball fielding trainer. You must capture the ball with your free hand as it hits the flat surface of the mitt. That motion then lets you release the ball (throw it) in a fluid motion. Isn't it frustrating to see even the pros drop a catchable fly ball because they used one hand and messed up on the fundamentals? (It frustrates me to see this!) Players who have become used to one-hand catching need to use these trainers now and then, so they remember how much better they play when they remember the fundamentals! They are also fun to use even in the house with a wiffle ball, since there are two mitts in the pack (a rainy-day activity).

Nice training aid to mix variety into practice. Especially good for players that are not as disciplined at following and trapping the ball in their glove. With a glove, a player might get away with using just the glove to catch the ball, but with the foam board, they have to use two hands or the ball will get away from them. Great way to reinforce good habits. The construction is good and the elastic finger holes on the back fit both adult and youth hands well. Both mitts can be worn on either right or left hand. At such a reasonable price point, really no reason not to include this in your arsenal of training tools.

These were a dad big for my 9 year old who is on the smaller side, but they do their purpose. Going to our these to use this year, so I'll update on the duration of needed. Otherwise they seem well made.

Bought these to use with my kids for training. These cost about 1/3 the price of a cheap pancake glove and work just as well. If you're using these with young kids, they may work better than a traditional pancake glove since they are so light and easy to wear. The extra padding is helpful if you're using real baseballs too.I have both lefties and righties so these being interchangeable is a huge plus too. Foam seems high enough quality and I haven't had any break or degrade after a few uses yet. I'd highly recommend these if you're looking for a pancake glove alternative.

I have a small baseball store in South America, so we're always buying and testing different products to get the best one for the price. We got a Heiken And liked it, but wanted to try some others. It is by far the best. This one's thicker, but not as strong. And folding it immediately created creases and cracks. It will not last as long. So as soon as we get rid of these, we'll be ordering more of the other.

Great tool to start my son in tee-ball to start him with correct fundamentals. We know how kids are and how they know everything. Well, this tool teaches them that they do not. But I am sure this would be helpful for better players and even the ones that play on TV that people don't have time to watch.

I ordered this to help my 7 year old learn how to stop ground balls as she is a brand new player and hasn't mastered the coordination to catch with her mitt yet. This trainer is a great tool for athletes who are getting used to fielding and is helping my daughter to build confidence in the sport as she does not have to be afraid of the ball coming toward her because these trainers cover and protect her hands completely. Definitely recommend for new athletes of any age to help build their ball handling skills.
