I first found out about this at Bloomingdales when I was looking to see what they sell for sterling silver. I bought my first jar 20 years ago and it lasted for over 15 years because I didn't use that much at a time and I don't have too many items to polish. Over time it does dry out a bit, but with a bit of water it works just the same. I like this because it is non-toxic, I don't have to worry about breathing in toxic fumes, nor getting it on my skin, although I do use rubber gloves when I use this. It has the consistency of thick pudding; I wet a cellulose sponge, dip it in the jar, with the foam on the sponge, and rub it over the silver item, quickly removing built up tarnish. With older tarnish, it may take a bit of elbow grease, but over all it works really well. I know there are a lot of things on social media today, showing using foil, and baking soda, which although it may work, it also causes microscopic pitting in the silver surface which cannot be undone or fixed, so why take a chance if you have quality silver with methods that are not safe nor good for the item? Overall, I wouldn't trust anything else to silver items, whether sterling or silver plate. This works so well, so easily, and the fact that it isn't toxic, is a winner to me.

I LOVE THIS foam, it clean beautifully without the need of to much rubbing the silver dishes, it works as a "soap" one you put the foam in it and wash under water the tarnish will disappear.

It really works on badly tarnished jewelry, but it is a little hard to get into little nooks and crannies. That being said, it takes of tarnish pretty easily, didn't damage stones, pearls, opals, glass, or beads. It did dull amber a little bit, but so does heat, so that's a tricky one anyway. I will definitely use this from now on, for both ease and results.

I've been using Hagerty Silver Foam for fifty years. It was recommended to me as a young bride, by the jeweler who lived across the street from my parents. He suggested using a "natural sponge" to clean with, so down through the years I've kept one on hand to clean the sliver. I must admit that it's not my favorite thing to do, but the silver foam makes the job simple and easy. It cleans easily those intricate places in the silver that get tarnished because they're hard to get to. There's none of the messy, chalky stuff that needs to be buffed off the silver. The foam works into a lather that acts like soap and water would, and lifts the tarnish away in the simple act of cleaning. You just dry the silver when finished as if you were drying the dishes after washing. Couldn't be easier. As the years go by my silver gets less action, and fewer cleanings than it should, so many times I'm faced with "Oh,Oh" situations that require a little extra elbow grease, but I haven't had a problem bringing it back with the my Hagerty's. I also have to add that I've used it on jewelry for years. Works great. Especially chains that get tarnished where the links connect, and would otherwise be impossible to get into. The sponge with the sudsy polish get right into those crevices and grooves. It's nice to know I can now order this product from Amazon. In the distant past I had to go to an upscale department store that carried fine china and silver. Here's a tip from that same jeweler who recommended it – and one I've used down through the years. When finishing up the silver cleaning, I always make a little well in the paste and add a few ounces of water. Cap it up securely when finished. The next time it's needed, there will be a semi-liquid paste ready to use, and easier to work into a foam. Rinse out the natural sponge and leave it to air-dry on top of the container.

we were using tarnex with less an less satisfaction in the results. It would get our silver clean but the tarnish would reappear after a short while. We switched to Hagerty and were very pleased with the cleaning results and the time it took for the tarnish to reappear.

Lo uso desde hace tiempo y limpia muy bien la plata

I've used Hagerty's silver polish for years. It's gentle enough so that you can apply it and scrub with your fingers for a lasting polish of anything silver or silverplated. Just recently I used it on some copper coins---just the same, gentle, nonabrasive cleaning of those, too. I've just re-ordered this product for the nth time and it arrived in a couple days, safely boxed inside corrugated cardboard. It's the best!

Ojalá hubiera tomado una foto del antes pero desgraciadamente no lo hice, la diferencia es abismal!! Los de oro estaban completamente negros y me encantó poder usarlo en los que tienen perla para pulir la parte de plata y que no se dañara la perla. Muy fácil de usar y además no me irritó para nada las manos a pesar de que no usé guantes.
