I have been using this in two traps around back of my cabin. They fill up with flies every week. Smells a little, but good trade off for minimal fly activity around the front porch. I dump flies and maggots into the lake to feed the fish and refill with a packet. Good stuff! Use rubber gloves and hold your breath.

I bought this bait after having great success with the Victor M380 Reusable Fly Trap and the bait that comes with it (a great product for it's purpose as well). I just wanted to see if I could find a cheaper effective refill for the container. This stuff smells just as horrible and draws just as many flies. I live where the weather gets hot in the summer months and the trap fills in a week or two. However, on cooler days it doesn't seem to draw as many. Just be patient. It works when it matters. Having an inexpensive and effective replacement for the bait is great. For those reviewers complaining about the fly larvae, I expect that's normal and any hatched flies will be unable to escape the container, just like every other fly that enters the trap. Another word of advice, wear gloves if you are going to empty and reuse the trap. Soap will not remove the stench this bait leaves behind...

I found the product to work well with one exception, it did not, in my view, work as well as those I bought of the other products at the store. Those at the store are in their own plastic bag and you fill it to a line indicating the water level and hang it in an appropriate place. The odor was much more pungent and, in my opinion, works better than the packets sent to me.

The dry packet smelled a little bad taking it out of and putting it into the trap. After adding water, almost no scent at all. An since their is no scent, flys are not attracted to it. Easy enough to use by just putting it into the trap with dry gloved-hands. The product just does not work. I will go back to and stick with the major brand. Trying to save money ultimately was a waste of money. Do not be another guinea pig and still have to contend with the flys.

Doesn’t attract flies like Rescue brand

Have used them for many years. Just hang in the middle of stall. We have a great fly program at our stable so I only have the clean and replace the trap about three times during the season. It's a filthy, smelly, vile job but I'm always amazed at how many flys they trap. I highly recommend this system!

Works great

I bought this to use in my kitchen. It smelled so bad that I thought I accidentally left some meat out that rotted. I immediately threw it out. It works great, but the smell makes it unusable indoors!

Wow. I didn’t realise how many flies it could catch. When full I managed to get better value for money by closing the top until they stopped buzzing and then chucked nearly all away (carefully cos it’s does stink) and then topped the remainder up with more water. No break in the fly catching either. Much better than the red topped ones.
