Run a bit short- buy half to full size up
I've been running in Asics Kayanos for 30 + years and love them. These have the normal tongue (not the sock type mesh that is too tight for me). I measure a 6W and got these in a 7W based on the other reviews, who said these ran short. The 7W was perfect for me. I loosened up the laces and can wear with thin running socks. I could not have gone down to the 6.5W. My advice is to go up a full size if you don't want to lose toenails. These have great stability and cushioning for my aging knees/ankles and recently replaced hip joints. Would buy again and I'm thinking about getting another pair now to use later after these crush down.

Perfect replacement for my worn out Gel-Kayano 27 model
I have a slightly narrow foot. Three years ago I got the “27” model of this ASICS shoe. It is a medium width but runs slightly narrow which is exactly what I needed. It also has a good arch and comfort all around. I read lots of comparison reviews on the 27, 28, & 29 models. This new 28 has more cushioning around the back of the ankle that for me is a better fit than the 27. I find it gives me a more secure fit for my slightly narrow feet and does NOT cause irritation or blisters. I put these on the first day thinking I would wear them just a couple of hours to get used to them. I wore them all day and they felt great with all-around cushioning which my old shoes no longer had! I’m very pleased and am considering a second pair due to the great reduced price and because the newer models no longer have a tongue that can be adjusted…more like a sock instead. The jury is still out on how those may feel. I’m thankful I was able to order these online and that they fit as well and even better than my first ASICS pair.

My Right Foot Hates This Shoe
Before I start this review, I should mention that I have two completely different feet and they are seldom in agreement about shoes. I have to search for shoes that make both feet happy. I have always had higher arches, but they have been flattening over the years. Now, one has a higher arch than the other one and is a half-size shorter. It is also slightly wider at the ball. That foot likes to supinate. The arch fell more in the other foot, which is now slightly longer. That one is fairly neutral. I have sensitive feet and both are very picky about shoes. I like a roomy toe box and a narrower heel. These Gel-Kayano shoes certainly satisfy that criteria. However, my right foot hates this shoe due to the support features. This is a beautiful shoe, but it is supportive to the point of being a bit oppressive. There is too much padding around the cuff at the heel, which is a bit uncomfortable and rubs a bit on the heel of the shorter foot. There is great deal of cushioning in the sole and heel, which is good for "supinators", but it is a big sacrifice in responsiveness. The outside of my supinating right foot just mushes right into the lateral part of the shoe, rather than pushing off. I need a supportive shoe for my right foot, but it feels like this shoe is doing the opposite of what I need it to do. It seems to be exaggerating the supination. My left foot, which is flatter and more neutral, is OK with this shoe. It finds it comfortable. Of course, I buy shoes to fit the longer foot, so the shoe does fit the left foot better. That may also be why it isn't bothered by the excessive padding around the cuff at the heel. Unfortunately, it slides and rubs on my shorter, problemed, supinating right foot. My guess is that the shoe has to be a perfect fit or the padded heel is going to be a problem for some. I do find that the shoe is true to sizing. I measure both the width and length of my feet before ordering online and check with the manufacturer for sizing. These fit exactly as expected. They are a bit more snug at the arch and the heel for support, but the toe box is ample for me. My feet are pretty standard for width and I don't find this shoe to run narrow, like many claim the Asics brand to do. I think this shoe would be great for pronators who want superb cushioning, but I wouldn't recommend it for supinators. The cushioning is certainly ample for supinators, but the support seems to be geared more for pronation. It seems to actually push my feet in that direction. I did try the Asics Gel-Cumulus 23, which was a better fit for my supinating right foot. It puts it in the correct alignment without putting all kinds of unnecessary pressure on the foot. It still has more padding at the cuff of the heel and more cushioning in the sole than I would like, but that is more of a personal preference. I tend to prefer more responsiveness over cushioning. I also tried the Asics Gel-Venture 7 to help my supinating right foot, which doesn't have nearly as much cushioning and padding, but the shoe is supportive and responsive. Both of my feet love that shoe, as well as the price tag. Lastly, I also tried the Brooks Adrenaline GTS, which is a fine shoe for cushioning, but it doesn't seem to be made as well as the the Asics brand shoes or provide as much support. It has some degree of side rail support, but the material above the sole doesn't provide much form or shape. It is pretty soft and allows the foot to slide around. It is, however, a comfortable shoe for everyday wearing. I just wouldn't run in them. All four pairs of these shoes were purchased and compared for their comfort and ability to help my right, supinating foot without irritating my left foot. While I am on the fence about the Brooks shoes, I'm keeping the latter two pairs of Asics shoes and returning the Gel-Kayano 28s. I just don't feel the Gel-Kayano 28s are a good fit for supination.

Love these shoes!
I needed a great pair of comfortable walking shoes to start my menopause exercise journey and founds these after some good old internet research. Not only are they reasonably priced but the are the most comfortable sneaker I have ever owned. I think I found my brand! I will definitely be purchasing these again. I’m already thinking about a second pair even though Runkeeper only has 30 miles logged on this pair. 👟💕

I've been in the wrong shoes!!!
I overpronate and I usually buy ASICS, Brooks, or Saucony due to this fact. But, I still end up buying orthopedic insoles due to my fallen arches. Where has this shoe been all my life? I've never felt this much support without the shoe feeling like a cedar block. They are so light and have more support than I've ever experienced. I didn't need to buy insoles! I'll be getting another pair!

Best Shoes for my flat feet with over pronation
I have a difficult time finding shoes. My feet hurt so bad after a days work, that I had to quit. I frustratingly tried so many brand name shoes, including expensive HOKA and Brooks. I finally found the only shoes I can wear. I am a lady who is 200 lbs, with medium wide feet (almost narrow), flat feet, pronation. They are a little hard to get in, but once I have my shoes on and start walking, it's excellent. These are now going to be the only shoes I can wear to walk or work. Thank goodness I finally found them and at half the price of the HOKA. I have never spent more than 50 on shoes, but with gaining 65 lbs, flat, over pro feet, I had to splurge and I learned that just because shoes are $150 plus, does not make them better for my feet. So these ASICS are now my go to shoes. My frustrating and depressing search is over. I am happy today. PS. Like other reviews, order a half size to a size bigger than what you normally wear. I had to return and size up a half size. I could have done a whole size bigger, but the half size up is good enough.

Narrower than other shoes the same size
I have a problem where my right foot is slightly wider than my left and it’s right between normal width and wide. I didn’t have problems when trying on the shoes in terms of comfort, but I did notice that it was noticeably narrower than other running shoes I was trying out, and I’m afraid it might be uncomfortable if I’m walking around a lot or run for over 20 min, so I’m returning it.

Excelente producto

Faulty or not genuine asics?
These are the at least the tenth pair of these trainers I have had and have always been pleased with them in the past which is why I have continued to buy the same ones. They looked fine when I opened them and fit perfectly as always. However, I started wearing these in about September and by December the sole was already coming apart and can no longer be worn as they caused me to trip. I would say that I have not even worn them ten times which is not what I would expect of a pair of trainers costing over £100. Every other pair I have had have lasted at least two or three years and none have ever come apart like this before. It really makes me question if these are in fact genuine asics.
