If it's the same type of connector on both ends of the phone cable I would think it might work if it also matches the connector socket on the 8720 printer . Without seeing the connector socket on the 8720 printer it's really hard to say. I would contact Hewlett-Packard and ask them. I am sure they would be glad to help you.

My cable modem does not have a phone port. Can I plug one end into my router and the other into the phone with this cable?
