DISCOVER ... KLIKR!The accessory that intends to connect all electronic devicesKlikR is a connected module that brings together all infrared remote controls in one application on your smartphone. Very compact and compact (3.2 cm side), KlikR can be glued to any type of device (TV, DVD player, stereo etc.).Connected in Bluetooth 4.0 to a smartphone (whether Android or iOS), KlikR allows remote control, from the phone, of various equipment. Indeed, the module can learn and memorize the various remote control codes in order to be able to reproduce them. Thus, it receives the information sent from the smartphone and acts to change the channel of the television or to lower the sound of the music. One module per device can be configured and will be able to perform remote commands within a 25 m field. The duration of its battery is 6 months. The module is not rechargeable, it will simply change the battery.

Move along. Nothing to see here.
At $35 a crack, there are far, far better devices to allow you smartphone control of your IR-based components than this. The Klickr will only control one device. It is a fairly unobtrusive little beast, and it - and its app - have worked well so far. It will not allow you to program all of the available buttons on most remotes, and will ask to program buttons that may not exist on your remote - or, you can choose your device from a database of codes (this, per the manual - I haven't tried to do so.). Since my TV uses a soundbar, and the soundbar activates from my TV's remote (and here, I thought it was just responding to the fiber-optic digital out...), I could not simply put the Klikr on the television's bezel as they recommend - not unless I were to suddenly find myself developing a penchant for movies! However, placing the remote across the room from the entertainment center did allow for both devices to turn on when the through the Klikr. The Klikr is a bluetooth device, and runs on a CR2032 cell. While bluetooth 4.0 is great for the battery, it limits the range at which you can control your IR device. Other devices in this price range, though they require an external power source, will control multiple devices through your smartphone, much more like a programmable remote - and through your WI-Fi network, allowing you to control those devices from your network, anywhere in your home and, potentially, from the internet.I purchased mine from another site for $20. Though it works as advertised pretty well, I would have been happier if I could define the buttons of the virtual remote, rather than use what they believed they should include - that way, I could have preserved more of the remote's functionality while using this device. Further, though unobtrusive and nicely styled, the Klikr is hardly worth even the $20 I paid. For its purpose and construction, a price point between $5 and $10 would be more realistic - particularly since there are devices able to control everything in your audio/video rack within the same price range.Bottom line: not much of a value. If you need a tiny little "bug" to control only one device, using only narrowly predefined features from your remote in a location which precludes something that gets its power from a wall wart - this is your holy grail. Else? There are better solutions than this.

Does what I want it tonight
It does its job pretty well. I would give it 5 stars except for a couple minor points:1) You have to set up the remote buttons manually. I feel the app should have access to a database of electronic devices, so you can search for your device manufacturer and model to have the buttons programmed automatically (granted a manual option should still be available)2) When you go into app and then to your device you have to tap the keypad to activate and connect to the device. It should activate and connect when select the device.3) Occasionally will not connect (which may be tied to the vagaries of bluetooth)

Not what I was looking for.
I ordered this item from another site for $19.99, it took a month, yes 30 days to arrive! Anyway, it works, kind of. I was easily able to add one room and the TV, It worked great. Then I tried to add a second room and second device. Total melt down. My phone could no longer find the Klikr, then I go back to the first room it works fine on the the TV, go back and try to add another device and get the Klikr not found error. I never did get a second device added. I should have tried replacing that battery, but at that point I just wanted out. Also you have to have the remote to program your phone. This will not work for a lost remote, the Kilkr does not have database of codes and relies on your remote to program all functions. I was looking for a small portable programmable remote for traveling, that has a database of codes. Similar to the harmony series remotes. This just isn't what I was looking for. Probably will work fine for some, just not me.

Needs development
Doesn't come with any pre-programmed functions and requires a working remote control. Lacks a database for using properly. Doesn't always capture remote signal to reproduce effectively.

Universal remote using Smartphone
A little hard to open without the risk of 'breaking it' in order to confirm that there was a battery inside, but once you've done it it is very easy and does what it says.
