The Late Great Paul Rand
If you know anything about design, the words Paul Rand retain some meaning for you. It may be vague, perhaps one of your professors recommended you look him up, maybe one of your design icons listed him as an influence.Or quite likely you have seen some of his work, and never knew the man behind such world famous, global dominating logos. This has to be the most in depth Paul Rand book I have read, and I have borrowed many from various libraries. Which inclines me to say that if the history of design has ever intrigued you or you just like Mr.Rands work, then this is probably the best choice for you. Not only does it have a ton of images but it's probably the best bang for you buck as far as Rand books go.

Buy a Magnifying Glass
This is a pretty thorough book on a graphic design icon. Unfortunately, the book is typeset very poorly in an 8pt serif font. Reading more than a few pages at a time strains your eyes and results in a headache - ironic considering Rand was a firm believer in usable design.Lots of full color samples of Rand's work to coincide with the text, which is nice.Overall, this book is a great resource. It's too bad the type is so difficult to read.

A Fitting Survey of the Work of Paul Rand
Paul Rand was one of the 20th century's most important graphic designers and Steven Heller's book is a marvelously informative survey of the work of a man whose diverse work set a standard for excellence in graphic design

Excellent Paul Rand anthology. A great supplement to the other Paul Rand books for a designer.
Great book. Don't leave it out, the cover color fades. A lot.

Fresh, Interesting and Inspiring
I bought this book a while ago and it was sitting on my shelf for months - but once I finally opened it I couldn't put it down. It's written in a simple and informative manner that gives me a taste of not only Paul but the times that he lived in, his professional contemporaries and parallel design trends.I read this book with an iPad right next to me constantly Googeling artists and books that the writer is mentioning. It's is more of a journey into an era than just story or biography - and as a designer I feel inspired. My creative juices are flowing and fresh ideas filling my minds eye.The format of the book is great, and the paper quality is superb.I had to take one star off because some of the images are tiny for no apparent reason. But other then this it's a highly recommended book!

The quality of the product is exceptional and good value for money
Paul Rand is a big inspiration for me and this book is a lavish, comprehensive volume. Paul Rand's work puts a smile on your face. The quality of the product is exceptional and good value for money. All images beautifully produced. The only thing I would say in the negative is that the text is small and probably has too much detail. I will find the time to read the full text someday - at the moment I am skimming it.
