Single action pull is efficient, sometimes difficult.
This wine key/sommelier knife is professional quality, and honestly unnecessary for casual/home use. I anticipate it capable of opening 1000’s of bottles. For higher density, younger, longer, or synthetic corks the pull action can be difficult, requiring above average grip strength. This can also occur if you screw into the cork at an angle and the sharp tip of the screw drags on the inside of the neck of the bottle, which can also potentially chip the mouth of the glass bottle. The screw is one piece of steel, much stronger than Le Coutale, pulltaps, or generic screws, and anchored with a very strong pin/tensioner.The curvature and serration of the blade is ideal for cutting through thicker foil. Preferably the blade on a wine key/sommelier knife this expensive would be able to be sharpened, but that’s not a deal breaker. The locking and spring mechanisms are very tight/rigid, and are likely to last a long time. This is the best tool I’ve found to date, and highly recommend it for industry work.Easy to use under common circumstances. Potentially requiring higher than average grip strength.Giftable but unnecessary for casual use.Sturdiest wine key I’ve come across so far, and priced fairly for it’s durability.

A true conversation piece
Rather expensive - but my husband loves it. A true luxury item and very high quality - a good conversation piece. And it works too :)
